Roles and Responsibilities:1. Direct Taxation• Handle corporate income tax compliance (filing, assessments, appeals).• Manage tax audits and coordinate with external tax consultants.• Ensure timely payment of Advance Tax and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source).• Liaise with tax authorities (Income Tax Dept) for notices, assessments, and litigation.• Ensure compliance with changes in Income Tax laws (including Finance Acts).2. Indirect Taxation• Oversee GST compliance including filing of monthly/quarterly returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).• Ensure timely input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation and utilization.• Handle Customs for import/export-related manufacturing operations• Represent company during GST audits, anti-evasion checks, and departmental queries.3. Tax Planning & Advisory• Develop tax-efficient strategies for business operations, CAPEX, and transactions.• Evaluate tax implications for new business models, supply chains, and expansions.• Advise on M/&A and restructuring from a tax standpoint.• Support business decisions with simulations of tax impact.• Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws, circulars, and court rulings.4. Tax Accounting & Reporting• Ensure accurate tax provisions in books as per Ind AS / IGAAP / IFRS - including deferred tax assets & liabilities.• Reconcile tax balances with general ledger and financials.• Prepare tax disclosures for statutory audits and financial statements.• Support tax reporting in consolidation5. Litigation & Dispute Resolution• Manage and track pending tax litigations (both direct & indirect taxes).• Coordinate with legal counsel for filing appeals or writs.• Attend hearings and prepare documentation for tax appellate forums (CIT(A), ITAT, GSTAT).• Evaluate and provision for contingent liabilities from ongoing cases.6. Compliance & Risk Management• Monitor adherence to all tax-related statutory deadlines.• Implement internal controls to prevent tax non-compliance.• Conduct periodic tax health checks or internal audits.• Keep management updated on key tax risks and mitigation strategies.7. Coordination & Stakeholder Management• Interface between tax authorities, external advisors, and internal teams.• Work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Legal teams for tax implications.• Liaise with internal audit, statutory audit, and corporate finance teams.Qualification: Chartered Accountant Experience:2 - 8 yrsMandatory Skills:Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Product costing & Maintenance of Cost records; Power Bl will be an added advantage.Good communication skills and story-telling ability connecting the dots.Desired Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
