Role PurposeThe Assistant Manager – Furniture Designer will be responsible for the design, detailing, and documentation of loose furniture across multiple verticals including personalized customization projects, experience homes, office furniture lines, and the website furniture portfolio. The role demands strong design sensitivity, precision in detailing, and adherence to Total Environment’s design philosophy and quality benchmarks.Areas of Accountability1. Loose Furniture Design & DetailingDesign and detail loose furniture across the following categories:Personalized Customization Projects – Tailor-made furniture solutions aligned with client requirements and project aesthetics.Experience Homes – Curated furniture pieces for show homes reflecting TE’s design language.TE Office Furniture Line – Design and development of office furniture products aligned with functionality and brand identity.TE Website Furniture Line – Develop standardized and scalable furniture designs for the digital catalog.2. Interior Product DevelopmentContribute to new product ideation and development.Develop furniture concepts from design stage to production-ready documentation.Ensure functionality, ergonomics, material suitability, and cost efficiency.3. Coordination & CollaborationCoordinate with in-house Architecture, Interiors, Production, Estimation, and Execution teams.Ensure seamless integration of furniture designs within project timelines and technical requirements.Key DeliverablesComplete drawing sets including:Specification sheetsTransmittalsDetailed 2D drawings3D models and viewsEnsure quarterly issuance of drawings as per project timelines.Maintain accuracy, completeness, and clarity in all documents.Ensure all drawings and documentation strictly adhere to TE Standards.Metrics / KPIsAdherence to TE drawing standards and documentation protocols.Quality, accuracy, and thoroughness of deliverables.Timely submission of drawings and documentation.Effective collaboration within and across teams.Reduction in design revisions due to documentation errors.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Furniture Design / Interior Design / Product Design (B.Des / Equivalent).4–8 years of relevant experience in furniture design and detailing.Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp / Rhino / SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D software).Strong understanding of materials, joinery details, finishes, and production processes.Attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
