We stand at the intersection of global expertise and local excellence, enabling us to drive innovation and support our larger purpose of unlocking the power of nature to enrich quality of life.Job Summary:The Tools & Automation Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the tooling ecosystem that supports job scheduling, monitoring, and operational visibility. This role focuses on driving the reliability and efficiency of IT operations by leading the integration and optimization of tools that enhance infrastructure performance. Reporting to the Operations & Performance Director, the lead will manage the Tools & Automation Engineer, set strategic direction for tooling initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support the organization's strategic goals. The role requires strong leadership in coordinating with Solution Architecture & Engineering teams across domains to develop tooling solutions that meet strategic and stakeholder requirements, while fostering the professional growth of direct reports and maintaining accountability for team deliverables.Job Responsibilities:Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design and implementation of infrastructure tooling solutions, maintaining alignment with defined standardsDevelop strategies and roadmaps for the continuous improvement of tooling and platforms, guiding the team toward long-term objectivesLead partnerships with technical teams to identify, evaluate, and implement monitoring and job scheduling tools across the infrastructure platforms and estateOversee requirements analysis for incoming requests, reviewing deliverables with stakeholders and managing the approval processDrive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying enhancement opportunities across systems and processes, prioritizing initiatives, and delegating activitiesChampion security-by-design principles across all tooling solutions, holding the team accountable for maintaining alignment with technical and security requirementsDirect incident response efforts as subject matter expert, providing escalation support for P1/P2 incidents and managing complex troubleshooting scenariosCollaborate with architects, engineers, and third-party vendors to evaluate, propose, and implement new standards, technologies, and continuous improvement initiativesManage the Tools & Automation Engineer, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to build technical capabilitiesFoster continuous learning within the team and maintain personal expertise on emerging technologies to guide strategic decision-making and architectural design discussions Job Requirements:Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience leading tooling and automation development and operationsExperienced in creating business value linked technology strategies and driving strategy through implementationExtensive experience of leading the development and operations of Tooling & Automation teams and systems across multiple environment type:AzureVMWareHyper-VWindowsLinuxContainers & OrchestrationBare MetalEnd User ComputingExperience integrating automation technologies with a broad range of monitoring tools, in particular SolarWinds and observability solutions such as DatadogUnderstanding of DevOps processes and Agile development cycles and experience of support Continuous Integration (CI)/ Continuous Delivery (CD) platformsA broad knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure systems and technologies:IaaS Compute & StorageNetworking & SecurityDatabasesVirtualizationPaaS provisioning and configurationsDR, BC, and HA technologiesAD, AAD, Hybrid AAD and AAD DSDNS & Azure DNSAbility to carry out requirements analysis and create solution designsStrong background of working within an ITIL service management frameworkExpertise in vendor and managed service provider performance managementHighly analytical, with the ability to analyze service delivery performance and drive improvementsStrong team leadership and people development skillsCompany Details:At ADM, we unlock the power of nature to provide access to nutrition worldwide.
