Overview of the RoleThe Lead Software Engineer (WMOS – Java) will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable warehouse management solutions that support Williams-Sonoma’s global supply chain. This role is hands-on and technical, requiring strong Java development expertise, deep understanding of Manhattan Associates WMOS, and the ability to lead complex integrations and production-grade systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and extensions supporting Manhattan WMOSLead technical design and implementation of WMOS integrations with enterprise systems such as ERP, MHE, and ProShipDevelop and maintain microservices and APIs supporting warehouse and fulfillment operationsWrite and optimize PL/SQL code to support WMOS data processing and integrationsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues by analyzing WMOS logs and system behavior in Linux/Unix environmentsEnsure performance, scalability, security, and reliability of WMOS-related applicationsCollaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, operations, and support teamsProvide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring for development team membersSupport system upgrades, deployments, and release activitiesDrive adherence to coding standards, best practices, and SDLC processes.Required Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field12+ years of experience in software development with strong Java expertiseHands-on experience developing and supporting Manhattan Associates WMOSStrong Java/J2EE development experienceProficiency in PL/SQL and relational database conceptsGood understanding or working knowledge of microservices architectureStrong knowledge of warehouse management processes including inventory, order fulfillment, and pick-pack-shipExperience with MHE integration and troubleshootingWorking knowledge of ProShip integration is a plusExperience working in Linux/Unix environments with ability to analyze WMOS logsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.About UsFounded in 1956, Williams-Sonoma Inc. is the premier specialty retailer of high-quality products for the kitchen and home in the United States.
