Role: Vendor Development Department: Procurement / Supply Chain Location: Hyderabad Experience: 8–10 Years Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical EngineeringJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced Vendor Development professional with a strong mechanical engineering background to develop and manage suppliers for mechanical components. The candidate will be responsible for supplier identification, technical evaluation, cost optimization, and ensuring quality and timely delivery of components such as sheet metal, fabrication, machining, casting, plastics, and structural assemblies.Key Responsibilities: Vendor Identification & DevelopmentIdentify and develop new vendors for sheet metal, fabrication, machining, casting, extrusion, injection molding, and structural components.Conduct technical capability assessments and supplier audits.Evaluate manufacturing processes, capacity, quality systems, and financial stability. New Product Development (NPD) SupportCoordinate with R&D and Engineering teams for new product launches.Drive sample development, prototyping, and PPAP approvals.Ensure tooling development and first article approvals within timeline. Cost Optimization & NegotiationPerform cost breakdown analysis and benchmarking.Lead price negotiations and achieve annual cost reduction targets.Drive value engineering and localization initiatives. Supplier Performance ManagementMonitor supplier performance based on QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery).Implement corrective actions and improvement plans.Develop alternate vendors to mitigate supply risks. Technical & Commercial CoordinationReview technical drawings and specifications.Ensure compliance with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and material standards.Finalize contracts, payment terms, and commercial agreements.
