Job Role: Manage inbound & outbound logistics through different mode of transport (air, sea, road)Key Responsibilities:Identify your supply chain's critical vulnerabilities and prioritize risks that necessitate alternative forwarders/ CHA/transporters/Shipping line options.Explore forwarders in different geographical locations and with varying specializations to reduce reliance on a single provider.Consider partnering with a mix of forwarders who offer diverse services, expertise in different regions, or specialize in specific transportation modes.Prioritize forwarders who invest in technology for real-time tracking, data analytics, and digital platforms to enhance visibility and collaboration.Cultivate transparent communication with your forwarders/transporters and establish clear expectationsEstablish clear protocols for activating alternative forwarders/transporters/CHA, including assigning roles, defining procedures, and ensuring clear communication during disruptions.Conduct simulations and drills to evaluate the effectiveness of your backup plans and make necessary adjustments based on evolving risks and industry trends.Export/Import/Domestics Logistics (Sea, Road, Rail)Facilitate customs clearance for Export/Import (CHA), liaise with DGFT, and ensure compliance with export regulations and licenses. 200-300 containers Export/Import Current CapacityEngaging the domestic transport partners Timely delivery of material to all the customersPlan and coordinate shipments, ensuring accurate staging and meeting strict deadlines for document submission, advance licences and compliances .Engaging, Onboarding & negotiation of the forwarding/trailer cost, liaise with the shipping lineManaging & Domestic/international locations the entire warehouse operations for Domestic/international locations Responsible for US & India Warehouse management - ship the goods out of Warehouse post invoice and work with the local transporters for delivery to customersBudget, MIS & team Management Streamline the entire logistics team Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain.Preparing weekly/monthly MIS Preparing the logistics budget Cost reduction through development of alternate forwarders/ CHA/Shipping lineContinuous improvement of entire logistics Operation Manage internal and external stakeholders like manufacturing team, customers, Sales team, DGFT, Customs, etc. Education Qualifications, Experience, / Skills:Bachelor Degree or higher with 10+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations8+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management, and import/export operations experienceExperience processing shipments using international Freight forwarders and CHAPrior global shipping management/customs clearance experience is mandatoryIn depth knowledge on Indian customs requirementStrong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations, international tradelaws, and shipping documentation.
