This role demands a highly creative yet detail-oriented professional who understands scale, anthropometry, materials, budgets, and execution realities.You are a design thinker who blends aesthetics with practicality, stays ahead of global furniture trends, and collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality workspace environments.Key ResponsibilitiesFurniture Design & Spatial Planning • Understand project briefs and propose furniture layouts aligned with design concepts and user requirements. • Conceptualize and detail furniture applications considering scale, ergonomics, anthropometry, and spatial efficiency. • Develop detailed drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation for execution. • Generate sample designs using CAD models, sketches, card models, and prototypes. • Ensure all designs align with budgets, timelines, and feasibility constraints.Research & Material Development • Continuously research activity-based furniture systems, collaboration typologies, and emerging workplace trends. • Explore innovative materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques. • Create and maintain a structured material library with updated samples and specifications. • Stay informed about global furniture and product design trends and integrate relevant insights into projects.Execution Coordination & Vendor Management • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure quality and timely execution. • Prepare execution timelines in collaboration with Project Managers and ensure seamless coordination across multiple projects. • Evaluate pricing, production methods, safety standards, and material feasibility. • Organize schedules based on resource availability and monitor progress through completion.Tools, Technology & Documentation • Use software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, 3DS Max, and Photoshop for design development and visualization. • Prepare detailed final designs and execution-ready documentation. • Support client presentations with clear visuals, samples, and technical rationale. • Attend workshops and training programs on manufacturing and furniture innovation, sharing learnings with internal teams.Leadership & Professional Conduct • Demonstrate strong design sensibility in form, aesthetics, color, and materiality. • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. • Handle pressure situations with structured problem-solving and clarity. • Exhibit ownership, decision-making ability, and presentation skills in client-facing interactions.Who You Are • A creative and technically sound furniture designer. • A detail-oriented professional who understands both design intent and manufacturing realities. • A collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced environments. • A proactive problem solver who balances innovation with practicality. • A design professional committed to continuous learning and excellence.Qualifications & Experience • Postgraduate degree in Furniture Design, Product Design, or Industrial Design from a reputed institution. • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, 3DS Max, and Adobe Photoshop.
