Job Description

Senior Technical Program Manager – Cloud Migration An exciting opportunity to join our team within a growing ICT Services company with a global portfolio, as a Program Manager. Role Overview:Getronics is executing a high-stakes, time-critical transformation program to migrate our managed service customer base from legacy VMware architectures to the Nutanix Cloud Platform and Public Cloud. We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to orchestrate this /"Migration Factory./" You will not just track dates; you will drive the engineering cadence, manage cross-functional dependencies between Architecture, Operations, and Sales, and ensure every customer workload lands safely on the new platform before our critical compliance deadlines. Key Responsibilities 1. Program Governance & The /"Migration Factory/" • Build the Machine: Establish the end-to-end migration framework—from /"Customer Discovery/" and /"Wave Planning/" to /"Cutover/" and /"Decommissioning./" • Master Scheduling: Manage the master schedule for thousands of VMs. You must balance aggressive migration velocity against operational stability and customer maintenance windows. • Pipeline Management: Treat migrations as a production line. Identify bottlenecks (e.g., /"Network team is overloaded,/" /"Storage array isn't ready/") and aggressively clear them to keep the factory moving. 2. Technical Risk & Dependency Management • Hard Deadline Enforcement: You will be the /"Timekeeper/" who ensures we are strictly on track to exit legacy platforms zero days late. • Technical Fluency: You must understand the technical blockers. When an Architect says /"Extended L2 network isn't working,/" you need to understand the impact on the schedule and adjust the wave plan accordingly. • Platform Transition: Oversee the decommissioning of legacy hardware/licenses as workloads move, managing the /"double bubble/" cost (paying for old and new platforms simultaneously) to keep financials in check. 3. Stakeholder Communication • Executive Reporting: Provide weekly /"No-Fluff/" status reports to the leadership team. We need clear Red/Amber/Green indicators on migration velocity, risks, and technical debt. • Customer Communication: Work with Account Managers to standardize customer communications regarding maintenance windows, downtime expectations, and freeze periods. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience Profile: • 12-15+ Years Total Experience: With at least 7 years dedicated to Technical Program Management in Infrastructure, Cloud, or Data Center operations. • Migration Veteran: Must have a proven track record of managing large-scale Infrastructure Migrations (e.g., Data Center consolidation, Cloud exits, or moving 1000+ workloads). • MSP Background: Experience working in a Managed Service Provider environment is critical. You must understand multi-tenancy and the complexity of managing multiple distinct customer environments simultaneously. Technical Competencies: • Infrastructure Fluency: You don't need to code, but you must be fluent in Virtualization (VMware/Nutanix), Networking (CIDR, VLANs, VPNs), and Storage. You need to know the difference between a /"Lift & Shift/" and a /"Re platform./" • Tooling: Expert mastery of ServiceNow for workflow tracking and MS Project/Smartsheet for Gantt planning. Certifications: • PMP or PgMP (Program Management Professional) – Required. • SAFe or Agile certifications – Preferred (for managing the engineering sprints). • ITIL V4 – Essential for understanding Change Management processes in an MSP. Leadership Characteristics • Crisis Calm: Migrations go wrong. You need to be the calmest person in the room during a failed cutover, organizing the rollback and root cause analysis. • /"Driver/" Personality: You are not a scribe taking notes; you are a driver ensuring commitments are met. You must be comfortable holding senior architects and engineers accountable to dates.
