Job Description

About the Company:We () are a young startup that aim to rebuild the world’s trust in its food. We are India’s first (and so far only) 100% Clean Label packaged food brand. In a world of loud claims and quiet disclaimers, we mention all of the 1 to 6 ingredients used in our products on the front of our packs. Simply because, we have nothing to hide. We don’t use any lab-made or natural sounding chemical alternatives in our food, and we never need to use disclaimers. Our philosophy is simple: rather than use the minimum amount of truth that is legally defensible, we want to become the world’s most trusted company by making the cleanest food ever and always sharing the whole truth about our food on the pack. You can see what this means here: we do this well beyond our pack as well. Bad faith actors use the nuances and technicalities in food, fitness and nutrition to confuse people and prevent them from educated choices, so we go the other way. We help people understand the food they eat and what it does to their bodies better via content that is loved by 200K people. Check us out atIG: &YT: pride ourselves on our truthful, collaborative & nurturing work culture, coalescing around the mission that inspires us daily. Learn more about our values hereLabs is The Whole Truth's in-house creative studio. We work across video, static and performance ads, web, packaging, retail, events, and merch… and the surface area keeps growing as we scale. We are building a creative team here with a singular focus on craft. And the one person we am missing in the Media Labs team is one whom I can fully trust to hold the aesthetic judgement so everything that gets shipped is on brand and keeps pushing the bar higher on beauty. We are looking for five things in this person.First, taste. This is the job. Can you look at three directions and know which one is right? Can you see a layout and say /"make this smaller/" or /"change that color/" and have it just land? Can you say no to things that are good but not great? You can't quantify or measure aesthetic judgement. Both A and B could be nice. But it's someone's taste why they pick A over B. So I want to hire someone whose taste I can trust.Second, execution. Can you take an abstract feeling from a brief—a mood, a strategic intent, a direction—and turn it into an actual thing? Can you set the creative direction for a piece of work and get a team excited about making it? Across formats: static, video, web, retail, print… Because the range here is wide, and the volume is real. Also, we are a copy-led brand. Design at TWT amplifies language, not the other way around. You'll need to develop a feel for our tone of voice. That takes time, and we'll invest in getting you there. But the instinct to think copy-first should already be in you.Third, leadership. I want someone who is first a great designer—who has done things with their own hands—but is now ready to do a mix of making and managing for the greatest outcomes. Who is ready to mentor a young team and give sharp feedback and nurture people and culture. If you have done this before, you get extra points. If you haven't done this before, and we find you are an absolute rockstar who has the right intent to lead, we will invest and develop you as a leader here. But if you've only managed people and haven't created in a while, this won't work.Fourth, vibes. We spend a lot of time together at TWT. And not all of it is about work. We genuinely like each other, we have fun, and that matters to us. So fit matters. If I don't feel like having coffee with you outside work, it probably won't work. Totally subjective. But really matters.Fifth, the mechanical bits. At least 8 years of experience in design. Full-time. In Mumbai. No remote.Main thing: You will own the aesthetic bar at TWT. If something ships that feels off, you'll feel it before anyone else does. And you'll want to fix it. If that excites you, please apply. How To apply:Upload your resume, portfolio link and responses to these three questions.Send us 3 examples of design work (not yours) that represents your taste ceiling. What do you consider exceptional? Who sets your bar? And why do you like this?Share one piece of your work and walk us through it. What was the brief? What direction did you push for? Why?Pick one thing TWT currently ships. Anything. From packaging to an ad (old or new), content, anything that you have seen. Which you think could be better. What would you change and why?Process:If we like your submission, we'd love to meet for a conversation. If that goes well, we'll send you a design assignment. And if we like the assignment, you'll meet the team across a few final chats.
