Location: Mumbai & DelhiExperience: 10–15 yearsReporting to: Head – InvestmentsJob PurposeThe Investment Counsellor (IC) will be a senior client-facing advisor responsible for delivering holistic, portfolio-led investment advisory to HNI/UHNI clients. The role focuses on asset allocation, portfolio construction, tactical investment recommendations, and cross-asset advisory aligned to client risk profiles and financial objectives.The IC will partner closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) to deepen client relationships, drive AUM growth, and ensure best-in-class advisory standards with strong governance and compliance oversight.Key Responsibilities1. Client Advisory & Portfolio ManagementAct as a trusted investment advisor for assigned HNI/UHNI clients.Conduct detailed portfolio reviews and recommend asset allocation strategies aligned to client risk appetite and financial goals.Provide actionable investment ideas across asset classes – Equities, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, PMS, AIFs, Structured Products, and Alternates.Drive portfolio rebalancing and tactical allocation in line with internal research and market outlook.Ensure suitability, risk profiling, and documentation as per regulatory guidelines.2. Business Growth & Revenue DeliverySupport RMs in acquiring new clients and expanding wallet share of existing relationships.Drive sustainable AUM growth through structured advisory and portfolio activation.Identify cross-sell opportunities across capital market offerings, lending solutions, and investment products.Contribute to revenue targets while maintaining advisory quality and long-term client value creation.3. RM & Internal CollaborationPartner with RMs for joint client meetings and portfolio discussions.Act as a subject matter expert for investment products and market outlook.Support branch initiatives, investor meets, and client engagement events.Maintain coordinated communication with RMs on portfolio actions and client strategies.4. Product & Market ExpertiseMaintain strong understanding of traditional and alternative investment products.Stay updated on macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and capital market developments.Translate research insights into client-specific recommendations.5. Compliance & GovernanceEnsure strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory norms, and ethical advisory practices.Maintain accurate audit trails, documentation, and suitability assessments.Proactively escalate and manage risk-related issues.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 10years of experience in Wealth Management / Investment Advisory.Proven experience in portfolio advisory for HNI/UHNI clients.Strong multi-asset product knowledge – Equities, Fixed Income, MF, PMS, AIF, Structured Products.Strong analytical and presentation skills.Ability to manage senior client relationships independently.Education & CertificationsMBA (Finance) / Post Graduate in Finance preferred.AMFI / NISM certification mandatory (as applicable)Key CompetenciesStrong client advisory & relationship management skillsPortfolio construction & asset allocation expertiseRevenue orientation with advisory disciplineHigh ethical standards & regulatory awarenessCollaborative and team-oriented approach
