The role requires close coordination with business teams, external counsel, enforcement agencies, and regulatory authorities.This position involves both operational execution and strategic legal advisory in relation to brand protection, infringement mitigation, portfolio management, and IP risk assessment.KRA's:-Effective management of trademark and copyright lifecycle (search, filing, prosecution, enforcement and renewals).Strengthening and protection of the company’s brand portfolio globally.Timely resolution of oppositions, cancellations, infringement matters and enforcement actions.Contractual IP risk mitigation in commercial and brand-related agreements.Maintenance and accuracy of IP Management Systems and dashboards.Conducting IP awareness programs and internal capacity building.Supporting governance, compliance, audits, and business excellence initiatives.Job Discription:- (Detailed responsibilities):-1. Trademark & Copyright Portfolio ManagementConduct comprehensive trademark availability searches (India & international).Advise business teams on registrability, classification strategy, risk exposure and filing strategy.Handle filing, prosecution, examination reports (FER replies), show cause hearings, oppositions, cancellations, rectifications and renewals.Draft and file User Affidavits, Evidence in Support, Counter-Statements, Rejoinders and related pleadings.Manage Madrid Protocol filings and coordinate with foreign counsel.Oversee copyright registrations, assignments, and recordals.Maintain portfolio hygiene including timely renewals, status tracking, and compliance.2. Enforcement & Brand ProtectionDraft and issue Cease & Desist Notices, Reply to Notice, Rejoinders, Undertakings.Handle matters related to anti-counterfeiting actions including raids, investigations and online takedowns.Handle marketplace enforcement (Amazon, Flipkart, social media platforms, domain name disputes).Draft and review responses to infringement allegations and third-party notices.Assist in strategizing civil/criminal enforcement actions, litigations.Monitor trademark journals and advise on opposition strategy and provide periodic updates on enforcement matters.3. Advisory & Risk ManagementProvide proactive legal opinions on trademark usage, brand architecture, packaging, ASCI Complaints, Notices, advertisement claims, T&C’s of marketing campaigns.Identify potential IP risks in new launches and provide mitigation strategies.Support brand strategy initiatives from an IP protection standpoint.Conduct legal research on latest judgments, amendments, and emerging IP jurisprudence.5. Stakeholder & Regulatory CoordinationLiaise with external attorneys, IP law firms, investigators and enforcement agencies.Interface with Trademark Registry and Copyright Office.Work closely with Marketing, R&D, Corporate Communications, Digital, Procurement and Business Units.6. IP Management Systems & ReportingUpdate and manage IP data in Iolite (or equivalent IP management software).Prepare MIS, dashboards and portfolio reports for internal reviews.Track litigation, enforcement metrics and risk exposure summaries.Support internal audits, ISO, Business Excellence and Kaizen initiatives.7. Training & Knowledge DevelopmentConduct periodic IP awareness workshops for business stakeholders.Develop training modules on trademark usage, brand guidelines, infringement risks and copyright compliance.Prepare internal knowledge notes and articles on key legal developments.Essential Qualification:- LLB,Preferred Qualification:-Specialization or certification in Intellectual Property LawAdditional diploma/short-term certification in IPREssential Experience:-4-7 years of experience in a reputed IP law firm or in-house legal department handling trademarks and copyrights.Preferred Experience:-Experience in brand-heavy industries (FMCG, consumer products, manufacturing, retail, digital platforms).Exposure to enforcement and anti-counterfeiting actions.Experience in handling international trademark portfolio.
