Position: Deputy General Manager Civil(Mines Industry) Industry: Mining / Open Cast Mines Location: Durgapur, West Bengal Experience: 10+ years Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Masters degree preferred) Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Planning & Execution: Lead civil infrastructure development for mining projects, including roads, drainage systems, and buildings. Oversee site preparation, excavation, and land reclamation activities. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and safety regulations. 2. Structural Design & Maintenance: Supervise the design, construction, and maintenance of mining-related civil structures like conveyor belts, workshops, and storage facilities. Conduct structural inspections and implement preventive maintenance programs. 3. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all civil works comply with mining industry standards, environmental laws, and safety regulations. Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals and compliance reports. 4. Vendor & Contractor Management: Evaluate and manage civil contractors, suppliers, and consultants. Monitor work progress and ensure quality control. 5. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and site supervisors. Coordinate with other departments like mechanical, electrical, and mining operations for seamless project execution. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Experience: 10+ years in civil construction, infrastructure, and maintenance within the mining sector. Technical Skills: Expertise in surveying, structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, and civil project management. Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DGMS (Directorate General of Mines Safety) guidelines and environmental compliance. Leadership Skills: Ability to manage teams, contractors, and multi-disciplinary projects efficiently. Preferred Candidates: Experience in handling large-scale open-cast mining projects. Strong knowledge of mining infrastructure development. Exposure to coal, iron ore, or other mineral mining operations.
