This role will own client engagement, program governance, technical strategy, and high-performing team management across cloud-based data ecosystems.About the RoleThe ideal candidate combines strong delivery leadership, deep data engineering expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a commercial mindset.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee end-to-end delivery of enterprise data engineering programs by managing cross-functional teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution, driving Agile/SAFe methodologies.Provide architectural leadership across modern data platforms by guiding the design and implementation of data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, real-time streaming, and batch/ETL frameworks.Oversee cloud deployments on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, while governing the effective use of tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and dbt Labs to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing data ecosystems.Serve as the executive point of contact for client leadership, leading governance forums and steering committees, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.Build and mentor high-performing data engineering teams by driving strategic hiring and capability development, establishing strong engineering standards and best practices, and cultivating a culture of innovation and automation.Establishing strong governance, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to maintain quality and performance standards.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Required Skills10+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Analytics with 5+ years in delivery/program leadership role.Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, and PySpark, with deep experience designing cloud-native data architecture.Implementing CI/CD and DevOps best practices for scalable, reliable data platforms.Drive agile ceremonies and technical retrospectives with maturity and ownership.Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (including star and snowflake schemas), data governance and security principles.Performance tuning and optimization to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions.Preferred SkillsStrong Customer Orientation: Demonstrates a proactive, solution-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.Innovative and Analytical Thinking: Applies creativity and understanding of AI in practical use-cases to solve problems effectively and drive continuous improvement.Curiosity and Initiative: Actively seeks knowledge by asking insightful questions, learning from senior team members, and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.Efficiency and Accountability: Works with a sense of urgency and reliability, consistently meeting deadlines, fulfilling commitments, and achieving service level targets.
