Join us in redefining the future of finance through innovation, technology, and a commitment to financial inclusivity.Job Title: Software Development Engineer II – UI / FrontendEducation: B.Tech / Dual Degree with Computer Science as a major discipline, MCAExperience: 2-5 yrsLocation: BangaloreRoleA typical UI SDE2 is expected to take up the following responsibilities:Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to translate product requirements and UX designs into high-quality, scalable frontend solutions.Build responsive, high-performance, and reusable UI components while ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.Understand product specifications and architect optimal UI solutions focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability.Follow Agile development processes and maintain proper JIRA hygiene while participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.Take complete ownership of frontend features and modules including design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for UI bugs and production issues and provide quick resolution.Mentor SDE1 UI engineers, review code, and promote frontend best practices across teams.Collaborate closely with backend teams to define API contracts and optimize frontend-backend interactions.Participate in the lateral hiring process and contribute to interview loops.Ensure adherence to best practices in UI architecture, accessibility, performance optimization, and testing.Communicate effectively across teams through documentation, design discussions, and email or in-person meetings.SkillsetStrong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 fundamentalsExperience working with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.jsStrong understanding of component-based architecture and state managementKnowledge of responsive design, accessibility (a11y), and cross-browser compatibilityExperience working with REST APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend servicesFamiliarity with UI performance optimization, lazy loading, code splitting, and caching techniquesUnderstanding of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD workflowsExperience working with design systems, UI libraries, and component reuse strategiesBasic knowledge of web security best practicesExposure to testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium, etc.) is a plusUnderstanding of deployment pipelines, hosting, and frontend build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similarPersona:Education BackgroundB.Tech / Dual Degree with Computer Science as a major discipline, MCAPreferred to have graduated in CS or IT-related subjectsOpen to all collegesExperienceWorked as Frontend/UI Engineer for 2–4 years in startup or mid-tier product companies with small engineering teamsExposure to building customer-facing, scalable web applicationsStrong collaboration experience with product and design teamsAdditional IndicatorsExcellent internship recordExperience solving complex UI performance or scalability challengesRecognized by management for ownership and impactWorking experience with Linux or developer tooling environmentsOpen-source contributions or frontend pet projectsActive presence on GitHub / StackOverflowPublished research or technical blogs related to web technologies (optional)
