We’re Hiring: Junior Interior DesignerLocation: BangaloreStudio: October DesignsOctober Designs is a small residential design studio in Bangalore. We design homes that are thoughtful, calm and deeply personal. We care about materials, light, proportion and spaces that feel good to live in long after the photos are taken.We’re looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our team.This is not a passive 9–5 role where tasks appear in your inbox and disappear at 5:30.This is a place where you learn how real design work happens.If you want to become a complete designer one day, this role will teach you a lot. But it will also ask a lot from you.What the role involvesYou’ll be involved in the actual workings of a design studio:• assisting with design development for residential interiors• preparing drawings, presentations and documentation• building SketchUp models and working on Photoshop visuals• researching materials, lighting, furniture and finishes• visiting sites and coordinating with vendors and contractors• helping translate ideas into details that can actually be builtSome days will be quiet desk work and reworking the same drawing three times until it is right.Some days will be dusty site visits.Some days will involve calls to locate the best vendor for a material procurement.It is all part of learning the craft.We’re not looking for someone who simply wants a job. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow into a serious designer.That means:• a degree in Architecture or Interior Design• 0–2 years of experience (fresh graduates welcome)• comfort with AutoCAD and SketchUp (Photoshop helps)• curiosity about materials, furniture and spatial design• willingness to take responsibility for your work• openness to feedback and the discipline to improveDesign maturity doesn’t come from software skills alone.It comes from ownership, observation, and putting in the work.How we work at OctoberWe are a small team.
