Job Title: Lead – Metallurgy (Lab)Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Metallurgy professional to lead and manage metallurgy operations in alignment with organizational objectives. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with product and process requirements, driving continuous improvement in metallurgical laboratory operations, and providing strong technical leadership across manufacturing, quality, and supplier development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage metallurgy operations and laboratory activities in line with organizational goals and quality standards.Ensure quality assurance of incoming raw materials, forgings, castings, and finished components through effective metallurgical evaluation and control.Develop and enhance metallurgical testing and inspection capabilities to meet current and future business requirements.Drive supplier development initiatives for new products, alternate sourcing, and process improvements in line with organizational strategy.Ensure full compliance with quality systems, laboratory accreditations, and certifications.Support and lead New Product Development (NPD) through metallurgical validation and technical inputs.Evaluate technical performance of oils, coolants, and solvents, providing continuous feedback to operations teams and approving authorities.Lead heat treatment furnace validation and approvals, including product and process validation in compliance with CQI‑9 guidelines.Provide ongoing technical guidance and continuous improvement feedback to cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree (B.Tech) in MetallurgyMinimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in metallurgical operations, preferably within the bearing or automotive manufacturing industry.Functional SkillsBasic Metallurgy for steel, cast Iron, ferrous and non ferrous materialsVarious heat treatment process applicable.Testing and Inspection methodologies according to National / International standards.Knowledge of National / International Standards and equivalence for Raw materialsHeat treatment process knowledge according to CQI 9 GuidelinesNew process and product technology development roadmapsMetallurgical advance techniques for evaluations knowledge and hands on experienceNDT testing level 2 certified for MPI,ECT, UT .Knowledge and know how of SEM -EDS , XRD techniquesKey CompetenciesStrong hands‑on metallurgical knowledge with practical application in the bearing industry.Proven experience as a team leader, capable of building and guiding high‑performing teams.Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and collaborate effectively across departments.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong customer interface capability, with the ability to address and resolve technical issues and drive customer confidence.Why Join UsOpportunity to lead critical metallurgy functions impacting product quality and customer satisfaction.Work in a technically challenging environment with scope for innovation and continuous improvement.High visibility role with strong influence across operations and strategic initiatives.
