The candidate will be responsible for performing process safety studies, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with international safety standards and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Safety StudiesConduct and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and Risk Assessment studies.Participate in PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) and Safety Audits.Identify process hazards and recommend mitigation measures.Risk Assessment & AnalysisPerform Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and consequence modeling.Conduct Fire & Explosion Risk Analysis.Evaluate gas dispersion, thermal radiation, and explosion impacts.Safety System DesignDevelop and review Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements.Review Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) and Fire & Gas Detection systems.Ensure process safety design compliance with project specifications.Engineering DocumentationPrepare and review:Process Safety PhilosophiesFire Protection & Detection PhilosophySafety Layout & Hazardous Area ClassificationRelief & Flare System Design BasisCompliance & StandardsEnsure compliance with international standards such as:APINFPAIECOSHAISO standardsCross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Layout teams.Provide safety engineering input during design reviews and project meetings.Support clients and project teams during safety workshops.Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of process safety engineering principles.Experience in onshore oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical projects.Expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and QRA studies.Knowledge of fire & explosion analysis tools such as PHAST, ALOHA, or Flaresim.Familiarity with international safety codes and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Educational QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering / Process EngineeringMaster’s degree in safety engineering is an added advantage.Preferred ExperienceExperience working in EPC companies or engineering consultancies.Exposure to FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of projects.Experience in refineries, petrochemical plants, or gas processing facilities.
