The Department of Forensic Science aims to develop competent forensic professionals equipped with scientific investigation skills, laboratory proficiency, and ethical responsibility aligned with national and international standards.Position AvailableAssociate Professor – Forensic ScienceProfessor – Forensic ScienceEmployment Type: Full-TimeLocation: Gharuan, Mohali (Punjab)Role & ResponsibilitiesAcademic ResponsibilitiesDeliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in areas such as:Forensic Biology & DNA ProfilingForensic Chemistry & ToxicologyCrime Scene ManagementDigital & Cyber ForensicsQuestioned Documents & Fingerprint AnalysisForensic Ballistics & ExplosivesConduct and supervise laboratory practical sessions and simulation exercises.Develop and revise curriculum in accordance with UGC norms and emerging forensic technologies.Prepare academic documentation including course files, lesson plans, and assessment records.Integrate modern teaching tools, case-based learning, and digital platforms.Research & Scholarly ContributionsAssociate ProfessorPublish research articles in UGC-CARE / Scopus indexed journals.Guide postgraduate dissertations and student research projects.Apply for funded research projects (DST, SERB, DRDO, MHA, etc.).Present research findings at national and international conferences.ProfessorLead research initiatives and specialized forensic research labs.Secure major funded projects and consultancy assignments.Supervise Ph.D. scholars and research fellows.Publish in high-impact journals and contribute to patents or forensic innovations.Establish collaborations with forensic laboratories, law enforcement agencies, and research institutions.Academic Leadership & AdministrationAssociate ProfessorParticipate in Board of Studies and curriculum development committees.Assist in NAAC/NIRF documentation and accreditation processes.Organize workshops, training programs, mock crime scene exercises, and FDPs.Support internship coordination with forensic laboratories and government agencies.ProfessorProvide strategic leadership for departmental development.Mentor junior faculty members and promote interdisciplinary research.Contribute to Academic Council and policy formulation.Ensure compliance with UGC regulations and quality assurance frameworks.Enhance research visibility, rankings, and institutional collaborations.Eligibility CriteriaAssociate ProfessorPh.D. in Forensic Science or relevant specialization.M.Sc. in Forensic Science.Minimum 8 years of teaching/research/industry experience.Research publications as per UGC guidelines.Experience in guiding PG students preferred.ProfessorPh.D. in Forensic Science or relevant specialization.Minimum 12–15 years of academic/research experience.Significant publication record in indexed journals.Experience supervising doctoral research.Demonstrated academic leadership and administrative experience.Desirable CompetenciesExpertise in advanced forensic instrumentation and laboratory management.Practical exposure to forensic casework and legal procedures.Experience in grant writing and funded projects.Knowledge of accreditation standards and laboratory quality control.Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.Performance ExpectationsAchievement of research and publication targets as per university policy.Effective teaching outcomes and student mentorship.Contribution to institutional rankings, accreditation, and research funding.Active participation in university committees and academic initiatives.Application processInterested candidates are requested to submit the following documents at Updated CV (with detailed publication list)Copies of academic credentialsExperience certificatesResearch statement
