ob TitleSenior Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panel ManufacturingJob SummaryThe Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical control panels for industrial automation systems. The role involves preparing electrical schematics, component selection, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and coordinating with production, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Design & EngineeringDesign electrical control panels, MCC panels, PLC panels, and VFD panels for industrial automation systems.Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams (SLD), and panel layouts.Select appropriate electrical components such as PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, VFDs, power supplies, and terminals.Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and protection coordination.2. DocumentationDevelop detailed engineering documentation including:BOM (Bill of Materials)GA drawingsWiring diagramsPanel layout drawingsTerminal plansEnsure all designs comply with relevant electrical standards (IEC, IS, UL, or CE).3. Software & ToolsUse electrical design software such as:AutoCAD ElectricalEPLAN Electric P8SolidWorks Electrical4. Coordination & Project SupportWork closely with manufacturing, procurement, and project management teams.Provide technical support during panel assembly, testing, and commissioning.Resolve design issues during manufacturing and installation stages.5. Quality & ComplianceEnsure panels meet safety standards and industry regulations.Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.Maintain design documentation and revision control.6. Continuous ImprovementImplement design improvements for cost reduction and efficiency.Standardize panel designs and documentation processes.Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.5–10 years experience in electrical design for control panel manufacturing or industrial automation.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of:PLC panelsMCC panelsVFD panelsControl systemsExperience with industrial automation components.Proficiency in electrical CAD tools.Understanding of IEC / UL standards for control panels.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.Preferred ExperienceExperience with PLC systems from companies like:SiemensSchneider ElectricRockwell AutomationABBKey CompetenciesProblem-solving abilityAttention to detailProject management skillsCommunication and teamworkAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously
