Learn more about our Tax Practice.Your work profileAs a Senior Manager in our BPS Tax team, you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations. You will: Payroll Processing and Administration:Assist in overseeing the processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.Hands-on experience in Indian payroll compliances and labour law compliance.Experience supporting high headcount organisations with employees spread across multiple locations.Practical working knowledge of PF, ESI, PT, minimum wages, bonus, gratuity, and payroll compliance processes.Exposure to compliance tools; strong Excel skills preferred.High attention to detail, strong execution mindset, and ability to work within tight payroll timelinesManage complex payroll functions including wage garnishments, benefits deductions, and leave balances.Oversee the preparation and distribution of detailed reports, including earnings, taxes, deductions, and leave.HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle ManagementManage end-to-end employee lifecycle activities for large blue-collar workforce including onboarding, exits, transfers, and role changes.Handle high-volume transactions related to attendance, shift rosters, overtime, leaves, and wage changes.Ensure accurate and timely documentation, employee records, and data updates across HR systems.Team Supervision and Development:Supervise and mentor payroll staff, including training, performance evaluations, and workload management.Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the payroll team.Compliance and Regulation:Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll and employment.Stay updated on changes in legislation that may affect payroll management and compliance.Assist in internal and external audits relating to payroll.Policy and Procedure Management:Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.Recommend improvements in payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with HR and finance departments to ensure coordination and accuracy of payroll and financial records.Address and resolve complex payroll inquiries from employees and management.Reporting and Analysis:Generate reports for upper management regarding payroll expenses, employee compensation, and other relevant data.Analyze trends in payroll data to provide insights for decision-makingStrategize, oversee, and facilitate the transition of finance processes, encompassing knowledge transfer, reverse knowledge transfer, coordination with client stakeholders, and the documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Key skills required: MBA/ Postgraduate in accounting, finance, Human resource, business administration or related field10–14 years of total experience, with at least 9+ years in a Indian payroll consulting, transformation, or implementation role.Strong understanding of Indian payroll laws, taxation, statutory benefits, and multi-state compliance.Experience implementing payroll platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, Darwinbox, Ramco, greytHR, etc.)Strong project management capabilities – PMP certification a plus.Prior experience in collaborating with clients in the ANZ region is preferred.Excellent communication, facilitation, and client management skills.Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to design scalable solutions.Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. High attention to detail, strong execution discipline, and ability to work under pressure.Practical, solution-oriented mindset with strong coordination skills.
