ABOUT THE ROLEStudds is India’s largest helmet manufacturer, designing and engineering protective headgear trusted by millions of riders. We are looking for an experienced CAD Product Design Engineer who can lead surface development for our next generation of premium helmet shells — bringing together aesthetic precision and engineering rigour in every surface.In this role, you will own the full 3D design lifecycle from concept surfacing through to production-ready models, collaborating closely with industrial designers, tooling vendors, and manufacturing teams at our Faridabad facility.WHAT YOU WILL DO→ Develop and refine Class A surface models for helmet shells, visors, and outer components using Siemens NX→ Translate industrial design intent into manufacturable, tooling-ready 3D geometry with high surface quality (G2/G3 continuity)→ Generate detailed production drawings with complete GD&T annotations as per ASME/ISO standards→ Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with mould tooling teams and resolve surface or geometry issues early→ Create photorealistic renderings and visualisations using KeyShot for design reviews and stakeholder presentations→ Manage revision control and CAD data within the PLM/PDM environment; maintain clean model history and file structure→ Collaborate with R&D, quality, and production teams to ensure designs meet IS/ECE safety certification requirements→ Mentor junior designers and review their surface output for quality and consistencyWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR→ 6–10 years of hands-on CAD product design experience, with at least 4 years in Siemens NX→ Demonstrable portfolio of Class A surface work — automotive exteriors, helmets, consumer products, or similar organic/freeform geometries→ Strong command of NX surfacing tools: Studio Surface, Through Curve Mesh, N-sided Surface, shape analysis (zebra, curvature comb, reflection lines)→ Solid understanding of GD&T principles and ability to create fully dimensioned engineering drawings→ DFM knowledge — draft analysis, wall thickness, parting line definition, sink/warp awareness→ Experience with KeyShot or equivalent for rendering and visual communication→ Background in automotive, two-wheeler, or helmet/protective equipment design is strongly preferred→ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, manufacturing-led environmentGOOD TO HAVE→ Familiarity with NX CAM or basic knowledge of CNC machining for tooling→ Exposure to FEA/CFD for structural or aerodynamic analysis of shell geometry→ Experience working with carbon fibre or composite shell design and layup geometry→ Knowledge of IS 4151 / ECE 22.06 helmet certification standardsROLE DETAILSLocation Faridabad, Haryana (On-site)Experience 6–10 yearsPrimary Tool Siemens NXDepartment Product Design & R&DEmployment Type Full-time, PermanentIndustry Helmet · Automotive · Optical · White Goods
