Job Description — Financial Controller Location: Bangalore (On-site) Experience: 5–9 years Compensation: ₹12–18 LPA Role Type: Full-time (Founder-facing) Reports to: Founder & CEO About Bhashsms Bhashsms is one of India’s fastest-growing SME communication platforms enabling 1 lakh+ SMEs through WhatsApp API, SMS, RCS, and AI-powered engagement tools. We are scaling from ₹1 crore → ₹3.5 crore monthly revenue in the next 18 months and aiming for ₹200 crore/month by 2030. To support this growth with strong financial discipline, we are hiring a hands-on Financial Controller who can build airtight systems, control cash flow, and help the company scale safely and profitably. Role Overview This is NOT a corporate finance role. This is a builder role for someone who enjoys: Running daily cash operations Ensuring financial discipline across teams Building dashboards Tracking ROI of sales, marketing, retention, and tech Managing accrual → cash conversion Partnering closely with Founder for growth planning You will be the backbone of financial stability for the next 24 months. Key Responsibilities 1. Daily Cashflow & Control Maintain daily cash flow sheet Monitor collections vs sales every day Salary planning (multiple schedules) Manage payouts across 3–5 dates without disrupting cash Enforce spending discipline across departments 2. Budgeting & Forecasting Create monthly budgets for all departments Build 12–24 month forecasting models Track budget vs actual weekly Predict cash runway with accuracy 3. Sales, CAC & ROI Analytics Track CAC across channels (FB, Google, WhatsApp) Run LTV/CAC cohort analysis Build ROI dashboards for: Sales teams Retention Performance marketing Tech initiatives 4. Financial Hygiene & Systems Standardize invoicing, credit notes, payouts Strengthen internal controls Build SOPs across finance Work with CTO to integrate finance data into ERP (Pulse) 5. Hiring & Scaling Control Build “Hiring Throttle Dashboard” Define when to slow down or accelerate hiring Create formulas linked to: Collections last 60 days Fixed cost for next 90 days Cash buffer needs 6. Compliance & Audit Manage GST, TDS, PF compliance Liaise with auditors (internal & statutory) Ensure zero financial leaks 7. Support Founder for Scale Support planning for 3.5 Cr/month by Dec 2026 Build playbooks for ₹20–30 crore annual cash reserve by 2030 Prepare company for future CFO hire Who Will Succeed in This Role You should be someone who is: Extremely disciplined Founder-driven Strong with numbers Zero tolerance for financial leaks Comfortable with daily operational finance Good at dashboards + analysis Has worked in SaaS/telecom/CPaaS/fintech/startups Can build systems from scratch NOT looking for: ✘ Strategy-only FP&A people ✘ Big-4 theoretical finance profiles ✘ People who want a CFO-like role on day 1 Must-Have Skills Advanced Excel/Google Sheets Strong in MIS, budgeting, forecasting Hands-on experience in cashflow management Experience managing multi-crore P&Ls Financial modelling Understanding of SaaS metrics (CAC, LTV, churn) Strong communication skills Good to Have Experience with ERP/CRM finance modules Worked in fast-scaling companies (₹20–100 crore revenue) Exposure to SQL/Python (basic) Experience with CPaaS, SaaS, Martech, or telco Why Join Bhashsms?
