About The Role Designation :Senior Engineer - Structural EstimatorReporting to : Project Lead - DesignQualification: Graduation in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.Experience: 3 - 5 YearsPosition Overview: We are seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Structural Estimator to support the Construction product group business from GIC India. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive material estimates based on architectural and structural drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.As a key contributor to the pre-sales and business development process, you will translate complex design information into reliable quantity take offs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Construction product group product portfolios such as anchors, ties, shelf angles, flashings, air barriers, and insulation systems. You will also play an important role in identifying competitor products specified on projects and proposing equivalent Construction product solutions that create value for customers.This position offers the opportunity to apply and expand your structural engineering expertise in a global environment—driving data-driven design improvements, enhancing simulation capabilities, and influencing product design decisions that contribute directly to the performance and sustainability of Marmon’s Construction group products.Mandatory Skills:3–5 years of experience in construction estimation, quantity surveying, or structural estimation rolesStrong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and façade drawings and specificationsSolid understanding of masonry systems, façade assemblies, building envelope components, anchors, ties, flashings, and insulation systems.Proficiency in quantity take-off and construction estimation methodologies.Working knowledge of relevant construction codes and standards (ASTM, ACI, TMS, or equivalent)Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including development and use of structured estimation templates.Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail capabilities.Ability to work independently while managing multiple estimates and deadlinesSecondary ResponsibilitiesReview drawings and specifications to identify competitor products within Construction product group business scope of supply.Document competitor references and recommend technically equivalent or superior Construction product group business alternatives for substitution and value-engineering opportunities.Collaborate with sales and business development teams to support bid strategy, competitive positioning, and client engagement.Support continuous improvement of estimation processes, templates, and best practices.Coordinate with design, engineering, and product teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve estimation-related queries.Skills/Experience:Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.Good understanding of masonry systems, façade assemblies, anchors, ties, flashings, insulation, and building envelope components.Proficiency in quantity take-off and construction estimation methodologies.Working knowledge of relevant construction codes and standards (ASTM, ACI, TMS, or equivalent).Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience developing and maintaining estimation templates preferred.Familiarity with estimation or take-off tools/software is an advantage.Experience supporting pre-sales, bidding, or business development activities is desirable.Opportunities for Growth:Exposure to a wide range of masonry and façade projects across commercial, institutional, and industrial construction.Opportunity to work closely with global sales, engineering, and product teams within Construction product group.Development pathway toward Senior Estimator, Technical Sales Support, or Product Specialist roles.Hands-on involvement in value engineering, product substitution, and competitive analysis initiatives.Continuous learning through engagement with evolving building codes, materials, and construction practices.
