About the role We are seeking a visionary leader(Technical Lead) to build and guide multiple engineering teams at Theom. This position involves fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture, engaging directly with customers to align solutions, and partnering with distributed teams to deliver consistent value. About Theom Theom is revolutionizing how enterprises secure their cloud data. Our AI-driven Data Access Governance and Security platform enables organizations to comprehensively manage, control, and monitor access to sensitive data across major cloud providers. Theom was founded in 2020 by an experienced team with extensive backgrounds at Google, Yahoo, and Cisco. These security practitioners, who had previously created Tetration Analytics—one of the first Zero Trust cloud security platforms—united their expertise to build cutting-edge solutions for protecting and governing enterprise data in the cloud. What youʼll do Build from the ground up and lead multiple engineering teams Foster a high-performing, motivated, and collaborative engineering culture Solve complex software problems with a data-driven and customer-centric mindset Build for scale, ensuring our systems and teams can support growing customer demand and evolving use cases Engage directly with customers to deeply understand their challenges and align solutions accordingly Partner with distributed teams across US, and India to deliver consistent value Supervise the design, development, testing, and deployment of product, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, security, and performance Model data structures and implement efficient, scalable transformations. Ideal Experience 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in systems design and architecture Experience in building engineering teams and large-scale enterprise software systems from the ground up 2+ years of experience leading multiple software teams (10+ engineers total) Strong development and debugging skills in modern languages such as Golang, Python, Java, C++, etc. Strong data structures, algorithms, and design patterns knowledge. Background working with data-intensive systems and integrating external/in-house APIs and SDKs Care deeply about system design, scalability, and elegant architecture, and are not afraid to reinvent the future Passion for building diverse, high-achieving engineering teams Proven experience delivering scalable, production-grade solutions Experience with data warehouses/lakes, relational database architecture, design, and development Experience building applications using OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or vector databases. Good communication and teamwork skills Strong understanding of cloud-native data workflows (AWS preferred) and pipeline observability.
