Job Description

Role OverviewThis person will support the Mechanical, R&D, and Production teams in procurement, inventory management, and material handling activities. The role involves sourcing mechanical components, maintaining accurate inventory records in the ERP system, coordinating vendor deliveries, and ensuring smooth material availability for R&D and production operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Vendor CoordinationSupport sourcing and procurement of mechanical components and packaging materials such as sheet metal parts, structural assemblies, bearings, brackets, fasteners, camera enclosure components, etc.Create and maintain purchase orders (POs) and procurement records in Oracle/ERP systems.Coordinate with vendors for quotations, order confirmations, delivery schedules, and documentation.Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials required by Mechanical, R&D, and Production teams.Assist in processing vendor payment requests and coordinating with Finance for payment releases.Inventory & Stores ManagementManage inventory and movement of mechanical components used in precision agri-tech machinery.Receive, inspect, and verify incoming mechanical parts such as fasteners, bearings, shafts, seals, camera enclosures, and other assemblies.Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management software.Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of mechanical spares, including corrosion protection where required.Track inward and outward movement of materials, sub-assemblies, and vendor returns through proper documentation.Implement FIFO methods, bin card systems, and organized storage practices.Material Coordination & SupportCoordinate with Procurement, Mechanical, R&D, and Production teams for material requirement planning (MRP).Support kitting and packaging of materials for production builds and R&D requirements.Conduct monthly stock audits and report discrepancies.Manage scrap disposal, defective item returns, and warranty tracking.Ensure safe handling practices while managing heavy or sharp mechanical components.Skills & ExperienceDiploma / bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.0-2 years of experience in mechanical stores, procurement coordination, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of mechanical components and nomenclature (fasteners, bearings, sheet metal parts, assemblies, etc.).Familiarity with ERP tools such as Oracle, SAP, or similar inventory management systems.Good coordination, documentation, and record-keeping skills.Ability to manage fast-moving inventory for both R&D and production environments
