About the Role:We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated UX Researcher to join our team. This is a hybrid role that combines hands-on user research with critical research operations management. You will be a key contributor to our team, initially focusing on evaluative research, such as usability testing for well-defined user flows, and operational excellence.This is the perfect role for an individual who has a strong foundation in usability testing and is eager to ensure the smooth execution of research projects by managing logistics and coordination. You will work in close collaboration with the Senior Lead Researcher, supplementing their work and helping to build a solid qualitative evidence base. While your initial focus will be on evaluative studies and operational excellence, this role offers a clear path to take on more complex, exploratory, and strategic research projects over time.What You'll Do:Manage Research Operations: A core part of your role will be to own the operational aspects of research projects for the entire function. This includes:Coordinating with our external research agency for participant recruitment.Assisting the Senior Lead Researcher by managing operational requirements of their projects, such as scheduling, summary creation, etc.Following up with the agency to obtain video recordings, invoices, and other deliverables.Managing internal processes for vendor payments and maintaining detailed records of all projects.Conduct Evaluative Research: Plan and execute usability testing for new features and simple user flows to ensure they are intuitive and effective.Supplement Foundational Research: Collaborate with the Lead Researcher on larger studies by conducting supplementary user interviews.Synthesize and Share Findings: Analyze qualitative data from your studies to identify key themes and usability issues. You will then communicate these findings clearly and concisely to the product and design teams.Advocate for the User: Be a consistent voice for the user in product discussions, ensuring that their needs and pain points are considered in design decisions.Grow with the Team: Over time, as you master the operational and evaluative research aspects of the role, you will be mentored and given opportunities to contribute to more complex, exploratory research projects with deeper strategic implications.Technical Skills We're Looking ForResearch Methods & Execution: Proficiency in qualitative methods, with a strong emphasis on usability testing and in-depth interviews. You should be able to execute research studies end-to-end based on a defined plan and with minimal oversight.Research Operations: Demonstrable experience in managing the logistics of research. You must be highly organised and efficient in coordinating with external agencies and internal teams, managing schedules, and handling administrative tasks such as invoice processing and record-keeping.Analysis & Synthesis: A proven ability to analyze qualitative data to identify patterns and insights and to articulate the /"why/" behind user behaviors clearly.Quantitative Skills: Experience with survey design and analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with tools like SurveyMonkey, Lyssna or UsabilityHub is a plus.Behavioral Skills We ValueOwnership & Initiative: You are a self-starter who takes pride in owning your responsibilities, both in research execution and in operational management.
