Department: Engineering / Design Location: Hyderabad Reporting To: Director – Engineering / Managing DirectorAbout the RolePH1 Industries is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Design Manager to lead and strengthen its engineering design capabilities in the field of Bulk Material Handling and Pneumatic Conveying Systems. The ideal candidate will have strong domain expertise, leadership skills, and a proven track record in designing and validating complex industrial systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and engineering team for execution of projects related to:Bulk Material Handling EquipmentPneumatic Conveying Systems (Lean & Dense Phase)Bulk Loading & Unloading SystemsAlternate Fuel Feeding SystemsDust & Emission Control SystemsReview and approve engineering designs, calculations, and drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications.Ensure proper design validation, including:Design calculationsSimulation and performance checksMaterial selection and optimizationCompliance with international standards and client specificationsCoordinate with cross-functional teams (Projects, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Site Execution) for seamless project delivery.Drive standardization, value engineering, and cost optimization in design.Develop and implement design processes, SOPs, and quality control measures.Support proposal and estimation teams with technical inputs and system configurations.Handle client interactions for design discussions, clarifications, and approvals.Mentor and develop the design team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement.Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).10–15+ years of experience in a similar industry.Proven expertise in:Bulk Material Handling SystemsPneumatic Conveying (especially Dense Phase Systems)Bulk Loading SystemsHands-on experience in design validation and engineering calculations.Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and industrial practices.Experience in leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.Technical SkillsProficiency in design software such as:AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Inventor or equivalentStrong understanding of:Material flow behaviorPressure drop calculationsAirflow dynamics and conveying principlesKnowledge of FEA/Simulation tools will be an added advantage.Behavioral CompetenciesStrong leadership and decision-making skillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesEffective communication and client-handling skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet project deadlinesKey ExpectationsEnsure zero-error design output and timely deliverablesImprove design efficiency and innovation within the organizationContribute to business growth through technical excellenceWhy Join PH1 Industries?Opportunity to work on global engineering projectsLeadership role with high impact on business growthCollaborative and innovation-driven work environment
