Reporting To: Head of Sales / Business Unit Lead – MechanicalRole Purpose To drive high-quality, technically sound, and commercially competitive mechanical proposals, leveraging expertise in process equipment sizing and selection, while supporting the sales and execution teams with design expertise and continuous improvement from loss analysis.Key ResponsibilitiesProposal & EstimationPrepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and techno-commercial proposals for mechanical systems.Ensure proposals are competitive, optimized, and aligned with customer technical specifications.Collaborate with major Mechanical OEMs (e.g., pump and compressor manufacturers) for pricing and technical alignment.Sales Support & Customer EngagementSupport sales engineers in pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and proposal presentations.Address technical queries and deviations efficiently to ensure client confidence.Ensure a smooth transition from the proposal stage to project execution.Product & Application ExpertiseProvide technical expertise in the selection and sizing of:Rotating Equipment (Pumps & Compressors).Static Equipment (Heat Exchangers & Vessels).Recommend optimal mechanical solutions based on the specific process application (Oil & Gas, Chemical, etc.).Engineering & Design SupportDevelop mechanical equipment datasheets, technical specifications, and system architecture.Support field and project engineers with:General Arrangement (GA) drawings and layouts.Design criteria and technical clarifications.Design reviews, including HAZOP and 3D model reviews.Procurement Materials Take-offCoordinate with procurement teams for:Vendor selection and floating RFQs.Techno-commercial bid evaluations and tabulations.Finalizing purchase order placements for long-lead mechanical items.Loss Analysis & Continuous ImprovementConduct post-bid analysis on lost opportunities to identify pricing gaps, technical misalignments, or competitor positioning.Feed insights back into future mechanical proposals to increase win rates.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required).12-30 years of experience in:Mechanical sales support or proposal engineering.EPC, Oil & Gas, or Process industries.Proven experience in equipment sizing and selection according to international codes.Key CompetenciesTechno-commercial acumen: Ability to balance technical integrity with cost-competitiveness.Analytical thinking: Proficiency in cost estimation and risk identification.Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with Process, Electrical, and Procurement teams.Attention to detail: Accuracy in developing datasheets and BOQs.
