Position TitleMechanical Engineer – Detail Design (MEPF)GradeE1LocationAhmedabadJob Specifications10–12 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for hospital projects; Mechanical Engineering degree; Strong HVAC, MGPS, and ventilation design skills; Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit; Experience in interdisciplinary coordination and DD developmentPurpose of the PositionTo prepare and develop Mechanical Detail Design (HVAC, MGPS, Ventilation, pressurization) for hospital projects, ensuring technical accuracy, engineering compliance, workflow efficiency, and integration with Architecture, MEPF, Interiors, and Equipment teams.Roles & Responsibilities- Prepare detailed HVAC design, ducting layouts, CHW systems, and air distribution plans.- Design pressure zoning for OTs, ICUs, Isolation Rooms, and critical areas.- Develop Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS) layouts and engineering specifications.- Conduct heat load calculations, airflow analysis, ACH, pressure balancing, and thermal load estimations.- Coordinate mechanical drawings with Electrical, PHE, Fire Fighting, Medical Equipment, and Structural drawings.- Participate in BIM coordination, clash detection, and design resolution.- Prepare RDS, technical documents, BOQs, material specifications, and DD sets.- Support site teams with design clarifications, installation readiness checks, and commissioning support.Special Skills- Strong HVAC, MGPS, plantroom design, and mechanical engineering expertise.- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination.- Ability to interpret architectural/structural/MEPF drawings.- Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving ability.Essential Experience- Mechanical design experience for at least two large (300+ bed) hospitals.- Experience in OT, ICU, Isolation, Radiology, Clean Room HVAC design.- Understanding of ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NFPA, FGI, NABH, and NBC compliance.KRAs- Delivery of accurate Mechanical Detail Design packages.- Zero major clashes in coordinated BIM models.- Compliance with healthcare engineering standards.- Effective design support during tender and execution stages.
