Hiring for Data Scientist | Remote | ContractJob Title: Data ScientistLocation: Remote – India a few hours overlap with Western Australia Time ZoneDuration: 4 months + extensionsClient has several AI projects kicking off and looking to add to their AI team in the Data Science space. This will project be focusing with EHS data insights and collecting and adding health and safety information into their global system. They don’t yet have any predictive analytics.Required Skills:Demonstrated production-quality experience in:Strong Python; excellent data cleaning, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis.Experience with document processing at scale (chunking, layout parsing, metadata extraction)Building classical ML models (supervised and unsupervised) in analytics contexts5+ years in Data science, with demonstrated experience with classical ML models and RAG/search evaluation pipelines.NLP specific (beyond classical):Embeddings and representation learningText classification, topic extraction and clusteringSimilarity search and retrieval evaluationGood to have: NER (Named Entity Recognition) for domain-specific entitiesGen AI and Agentic AI specific:Comfortable prototyping and experimenting with LangChain/LangGraph in notebooksPrompt engineering and output structuringDesigning RAG pipelines (indexing, skillsets, semantic search, filters, etc):Chunking strategiesEmbedding choicesRetrieval qualityDesigning and running evaluation frameworks:Hallucination detectionGroundednessRetrieval quality metricsStructured output validation, etcProven experience working with vector search and embeddingsAdditional Required ExperienceExperience working in an Azure environmentManufacturing experienceExperience working with environmental health data
