Esports Tournament Research Assistant (Part-Time Contract) Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Esports Tournament Research Assistant to support our team in gathering and analyzing information from tournament platforms and online communities within the esports ecosystem. This is a part-time contract position with flexible hours, ideally suited for a university student or someone with familiarity with the esports landscape. The role involves researching tournament organizers and players on competing platforms, collecting relevant information, and organizing that data in spreadsheets for internal analysis. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, has strong research skills, and understands how esports communities operate online. This is a temporary contract role with part-time hours, and the duration of the position is currently undetermined. Responsibilities * Conduct research on tournament platforms used within the esports community.* Identify tournament organizers and gather relevant information related to their tournament activity.* Use online communities and communication platforms such as Discord to locate publicly available information related to tournaments, organizers, and events.* Compile and organize collected information into structured spreadsheets.* Review historical activity on competing platforms and assist with internal comparative analysis.* Maintain accurate and well-organized records of all research findings.* Assist with other esports research tasks as required. Qualifications * Familiarity with esports communities (experience within the fighting game community is a plus but not required).* Strong familiarity with Discord, including navigating servers and locating information within community channels.* Strong research and investigative skills.* High level of attention to detail and accuracy when collecting and recording information.* Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel preferred; Google Sheets acceptable).* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.* Strong organizational skills.* Currently enrolled in university (preferred but not required).* Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding internal research and data.
