Game Developer & Co-Founder at Dreams EngineDreams is building the next-generation 3D game engine in Rust, a real alternative to Unreal Engine and Unity, designed from the ground up for performance, flexibility, and developer experience.We’re looking for a technical co-founder who eats game development for breakfast and wants to build something that changes how games are made, not just play in the sandbox someone else built.What You’ll Do • Co-own the engine’s technical direction alongside the founder • Build and ship core game systems: rendering, physics, gameplay loops, and tooling • Develop demo games and internal projects to stress-test and showcase the engine • Work on editor UX, ECS architecture, and advanced rendering features (volumetric clouds, water, lighting) • Help shape the product roadmap, engage with early users, and represent Dreams to investors and the developer communityWhat We’re Looking For • Strong experience in game development (shipped at least one game or major game system) • Proficiency in Rust, C++, or a systems-level language (Rust experience is a big plus) • Working knowledge of 3D graphics pipelines, shaders (GLSL/WGSL/HLSL), and rendering techniques • Comfortable with ECS architecture, physics engines, and engine-level programming • Passion for game dev tooling and a genuine belief that developers deserve better tools • Startup mindset: okay with uncertainty, moves fast, and cares deeply about ownershipNice to Have • Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity internals • AI/ML integration in game systems • Background in animation systems or procedural generation • Prior startup or open-source contributor experienceWhat You Get • Co-founder title and equity (negotiable based on contribution and commitment) • Fully remote-friendly (India-based preferred) • Direct ownership over major technical pillars of the engine • A seat at the table with investors, accelerators, and the global game dev community
