DescriptionThe successful candidate’s role will be as Principal BIM Technician within the Canadian CRC Bridge team in our Bengaluru office, producing detailed bridge and structural drawings for various Canadian projects, including bridges, LRT components, retaining walls, and other related structures. The successful candidate will be expected to handle multiple projects, guide the team members, and prioritize effectively and Passionate about bridges and eager to put CAD/BIM skills to good use.As a Principal BIM Technician - Bridges at iCRC, you will play a crucial role in our design and development process. Will work closely with our team of engineers to create detailed technical drawings and plans for a variety of bridge projects. Ability to use CAD/BIM software and understanding of bridge design principles will be essential to success in this role.In addition to creating and revising detailed drawings, you will also be responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to ensure that designs are accurate and comply with industry standards. Opportunities shall be provided to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale bridge repairs to large-scale bridge constructions, allowing for to expand and refine the skills in the bridge discipline.To excel in this role, the candidate must have a strong understanding of BIM softwares, such as Revit, Open Bridge Modeler, AutoCAD and Microstation, and have a keen eye for detail.Key Competencies / Skills:DescriptionPreparation of Engineering Drawings using WSP CAD Standards and Templates.Agree Priorities & deadlines with WSP work / team to ensure timely delivery.Align work with WoW and maintain Document Control for all work.Proactively raising queries, identifying necessary inputs from others & following up.Identify, plan & direct the training needs for the team on CAD / BIM software.Develop templates and libraries for CAD / BIM work.ResponsibilitiesWork on project set up by agreeing drawing strategy, type and size of drawings and drawing numbering with project engineer, and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of workingManage production of work, review and ensure it is carried out to specified WSP CAD standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriateUse templates for CAD work and use CAD library items to assist design workLead the production of Templates and Library Items.Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing production through liaison with the Project Engineer & teamCo-ordination of engineering services on projects to sure that the correct inputs are received timely, and the outputs are issued after full review.Ensure that work produced by the team is to be specified WSP CAD standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriateUse templates for CAD work and use CAD library items to assist design workEnsure that all work produced by the team follows QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelinesEnsure that all drawings and inputs received are correctly logged in the received registers and that all outgoing work is properly lodged in the outgoing registersEnsure that project folders comply with WoW and that the file structure and filing is correctLead project set up by agreeing drawing strategy, type and size of drawings and drawing numbering with project engineer, and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of workingCo-ordination of engineering services on projects to sure that the correct inputs are received timely and the outputs are issued after full review.Ensure that the development of skills in REVIT, Microstation, Civil 3D and ASD is documentedReview engineer s sketches and other design team member drawings and details with a view to querying any unbuildable / conflicting details or missing information.Raise and follow up requests for information; maintain a log of open queriesMaintain regular dialogue with Project Engineer and TeamBe responsible for the sharing of knowledge with immediate colleagues and the rest of the GCCEnsure that all new skills learnt are documented and available for new starters to the teamProactively support the WSP India CAD / BIM forumsIn conjunction with identify the need for additional templates, libraries, Revit families etc.Plan and prepare standard details for repetitive or small / routine workPlan and produce templates and CAD library items to assist design workExchange information and share libraries and details with GCC teams inclusive.QualificationsCultural awareness, conscientious and an open mind and excellent communication skills are essential requirements for the role.High degree of self-motivation and ability to motivate others.Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision.Diploma CadCompetence in AutoCAD/Revit/Micro station/RCD/Cads RCAutoCAD/Revit/MicroStation/RCD/Cads RC/any other Cad softwareAt least Diploma Cad with at least 5 years of relevant experienceExperience of having worked in a similar role.BGV:Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process — including documents uploaded — is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner”.
