Role Overview The Warehouse Engineer is responsible for supervising all warehouse operations and ensuring seamless end‑to‑end alignment within the warehouse. This includes material receiving, verification, storage, internal movement, kitting, line‑feeding, and material issuance. The role ensures adherence to EHS standards, maintains operational discipline, and drives continuous improvement and supports Warehouse Manager in achieving warehouse KPIs. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Warehouse – Receiving & Internal Movement Oversee unloading and receiving of inbound materials as per PO/ASN. Conduct physical verification of quantity, specifications, and documentation. Segregate accepted, rejected, and pending materials as per QA norms. Ensure safe forklift/MHE operation, load limit adherence & traffic discipline. Maintain receiving bay housekeeping, safety compliance, and EHS readiness. Transfer materials from docks to storage with correct labeling & system mapping. Follow FIFO/FEFO, safe stacking, and aisle discipline. Pick and transfer materials accurately for unpacking/kitting operations. Perform daily MHE checks and escalate abnormalities immediately. Align with supervisors to avoid shortages or bottlenecks. B. Warehouse – Materials Management Supervise unpacking, kitting, and line-feeding per production plan. Ensure kit accuracy as per BOM and schedule adherence. Plan & manage workforce allocation and shift productivity. Coordinate with Production, QA, Inventory Control & Planning. Drive process discipline, error reduction & SOP compliance. Maintain material issuance accuracy with zero line shortages. Monitor kitting TAT, WIP visibility & consumption tracking. C. Warehouse Operations & Supervision (End‑to‑End Alignment) Supervise all warehouse activities from receiving to issuance. Ensure continuous alignment of material flow up to shopfloor. Maintain warehouse infrastructure, racks, tools, MHE & storage conditions. Maintain inventory accuracy & traceability through system compliance. Conduct daily controls, checklists, and ensure digital compliance (SAP/WMS/MES). Lead improvement initiatives to optimize TAT, accuracy & space utilization. Ensure strict adherence to EHS requirements across warehouse operations. 3. Skills & Competencies Core Technical Skills Warehouse operations & material handling expertise. Hands-on experience with SAP (MM/WM/EWM) or WMS systems. Understanding of MES and digital warehouse processes. Exposure to automation systems (ASRS/AGV/Conveyors). Inventory control, FIFO/FEFO, and cycle count knowledge. Excel proficiency and analytical reporting skills. EHS & Compliance Skills Understanding of warehouse EHS guidelines and hazard identification. Knowledge of PPE usage, forklift safety, and chemical/hazard handling. Ability to enforce EHS standards across daily operations. 4. Qualification & Experience B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production or related field. 3–6 years of experience in warehouse operations (manufacturing/automotive/electronics).
