NPD Design Manager – Food Processing EquipmentPina Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and innovative New Product Development (NPD) Design Manager to lead the development of next-generation machinery for the food processing industry. This role is critical in designing hygienic, efficient, and reliable equipment aligned with global food safety and quality standards, supporting our mission to enable smart and sustainable food manufacturing.Key Responsibilities:-Lead the design and development of food processing equipment, with a strong focus on hygiene, efficiency, and scalability.Conceptualize and develop equipment such as:Mixing, Blending, Homogenizing, and Weighing SystemsFruit & Vegetable Processing Equipment (pulping, evaporation, drying systems)Heat Exchangers (Pasteurizers, UHT Systems)Clean-in-Place (CIP) SystemsProcess Vessels, Storage Tanks, and Utility SkidsRetorts, Freeze Dryers, SSHE (Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers), Cooking KettlesWashing Systems, Cooling Tunnels, and AutoclavesCustomized machinery for hygienic food processingDevelop 3D models, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs with high accuracy and attention to detail.Ensure designs comply with food safety and hygienic standards such as GMP, FDA, and EHEDG guidelines.Collaborate with automation, electrical, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless and integrated product development.Drive prototype development, trials, validation, and scale-up for successful commercial deployment.Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.Continuously enhance designs by researching new materials, technologies, and cost-effective engineering solutions.Your Profile / Qualifications:-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Food / Production Engineering.8+ years of experience in design and development of food processing equipment.Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Strong knowledge of hygienic design principles, material selection (SS 304/316L), welding standards, and surface finish requirements.Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and EHEDG standards for food machinery.Hands-on experience across the NPD lifecycle – concept, design, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project execution skills.Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.About Pina EngineeringAt Pina Engineering, we design and manufacture Make in India food processing equipment that reduces import dependency and enables manufacturers to achieve global standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency.
