Job Description

Enterprise Solution Architect – Retail Supply Chain & AIAbout Fenix CommerceFenix Commerce is a logistics AI and ecommerce shipping technology company powering estimated delivery date platforms, carrier cost optimization, and order fulfillment intelligence for leading US retail brands. We sit at the intersection of supply chain execution and AI — helping retailers turn complex fulfillment operations into a competitive advantage. The RoleWe're looking for a seasoned Enterprise Solution Architect who has lived and breathed retail supply chain technology across multiple US brands. This role carries end-to-end technical ownership — from setting architecture and design guidelines for the engineering team, to engaging directly with client teams on implementation, to rolling up your sleeves for code reviews, testing, and writing code when the situation demands it.You'll be the technical authority in enterprise sales engagements and client delivery, translating complex fulfillment, order management, and transportation ecosystems into modern, AI-augmented architectures that drive measurable business outcomes. You won't just design solutions on a whiteboard — you'll own them through execution. What You'll DoYou will define and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and engineering guidelines for the development team, ensuring consistency, scalability, and quality across the platform. You'll lead end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise retail clients, designing integrations across OMS, WMS, TMS, and ecommerce platforms. You'll conduct deep technical discovery sessions with client engineering and operations teams to map current-state fulfillment architecture — including order orchestration, inventory visibility, carrier selection, and last-mile delivery — and design target-state solutions incorporating Fenix Commerce's AI-driven capabilities. You'll architect and build AI/ML solutions for delivery prediction, carrier optimization, demand-aware fulfillment routing, and related supply chain intelligence use cases. You'll serve as the technical lead in enterprise sales cycles, partnering with business development to shape proposals, respond to RFPs, and run proof-of-concept engagements. You'll engage hands-on with the engineering team through code reviews, pair programming, troubleshooting production issues, and writing code yourself when needed — particularly during critical client implementations or tight delivery cycles. You'll define integration patterns and API strategies for connecting with platforms such as Manhattan Active, Sterling OMS, Blue Yonder, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Fluent Commerce, and similar systems. You'll evaluate and design connectivity with transportation management and parcel shipping platforms like ProShip, ShipEngine, EasyPost, and multi-carrier rate shopping solutions. You'll also contribute to Fenix Commerce's product and platform roadmap by translating field-level patterns into scalable product capabilities.Technical RequirementsDeep, hands-on proficiency in Java and Spring Boot is non-negotiable — you should be equally comfortable reviewing a pull request, debugging a microservice in production, or building a new service from scratch. Strong experience with microservices architecture including service decomposition, event-driven patterns, API gateway design, and distributed systems concerns like resilience, observability, and data consistency is required. Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch — including index design, query optimization, aggregations, and integration within data-intensive applications — is essential. You should be fluent in RESTful and GraphQL API design, modern CI/CD practices, and cloud-native development patterns on AWS or GCP.Domain ExperienceA minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience designing and building enterprise supply chain technology solutions in the retail or direct-to-consumer space is required. You must have direct implementation or architecture experience with at least two of the following: Manhattan Active Omni or WMOS, IBM Sterling OMS, Blue Yonder (JDA) WMS or OMS, Kibo/Deck Commerce, or Fluent Commerce. Working experience with transportation management or parcel shipping platforms such as ProShip, ShipEngine, ConnectShip, Pitney Bowes, or similar multi-carrier solutions is also required. You must have served in a solution architect, principal engineer, or technical leadership role across a minimum of three distinct US retail brands — we want someone who has seen the patterns and the pitfalls across different operating models.Hands-on experience designing, building, or deploying AI/ML solutions is essential — this includes demand forecasting, delivery date prediction, intelligent order routing, carrier selection optimization, or similar applied AI in a supply chain context.Deep understanding of retail fulfillment operations including ship-from-store, BOPIS, ship-from-DC, drop-ship, and marketplace fulfillment models is expected.Preferred QualificationsExperience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or BigCommerce is a plus. Prior experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or customer-facing technical role at a supply chain software vendor or systems integrator strengthens your candidacy. Exposure to carrier network design, zone optimization, or regional carrier strategy rounds out the ideal profile. Why Fenix CommerceYou'll work at the cutting edge of AI-powered logistics technology, directly shaping how major US retailers deliver to their customers. You'll have a seat at the table with enterprise prospects and clients — your architecture decisions will drive real revenue and real operational improvement. This is a high-impact role in a company that moves fast, values depth of expertise, and is building something genuinely differentiated in the market. How to ApplyTo be considered for this opportunity, please submit the following two items via email to and :1.
