Position: US Accounting and Payroll AssociateLocation: Delhi NCR (Onsite / Hybrid depending on company policy)Department: US Accounting, Payroll & ComplianceReporting to: Manager – US Accounting ServicesRole SummaryWe are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong professional with hands-on experience in US accounting, payroll processing, and payroll compliance to join our growing team. The role involves managing accounting transactions, processing payroll for US-based clients, handling payroll tax compliance, and supporting periodic reporting requirements.What Success Looks Like in This RoleSuccess in this role means consistently delivering accurate accounting records, timely payroll processing, correct payroll tax calculations, and compliant filing support. A successful candidate will proactively identify discrepancies, maintain strong documentation standards, and contribute to reliable client service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting OperationsMaintain books of accounts for US-based clients using accounting software.Record and review day-to-day financial transactions including AP, AR, journal entries, and bank transactions.Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and accounting workpapers.Payroll ProcessingProcess payroll for US-based clients accurately and within payroll deadlines.Review employee wage data, payroll adjustments, reimbursements, bonuses, deductions, and final settlements.Calculate and verify payroll components including:Social Security TaxMedicare TaxFederal Withholding TaxesState Withholding TaxesUnemployment InsuranceFUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act)SUTA (State Unemployment Tax)City and County Taxes where applicablePayroll Tax CompliancePrepare, review, and support filing of payroll tax forms including:Form 940Form 941Form W-2Form W-3Support payroll amendments and payroll tax reconciliations where required.Maintain payroll records and supporting schedules for federal, state, and local filing requirements.Assist in quarter-end and year-end payroll compliance activities.Payroll Platform ManagementHandle payroll setup, onboarding, and maintenance on payroll platforms including:ADPPaychexGustoSupport employee onboarding, payroll profile creation, tax setup, and payroll account maintenance.Coordinate payroll settings based on client requirements and applicable tax jurisdictions.Compliance & ReportingAssist in preparation of payroll-related reports and accounting schedules.Support federal and state payroll notices resolution.Maintain organized payroll documentation and compliance records.Client Coordination & Process ManagementCoordinate with internal teams and managers for client deliverables.Address accounting and payroll-related queries accurately and promptly.Follow standardized workflows and contribute to process improvements.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.CA Inter / CPA pursuing / relevant accounting qualifications preferred.Experience2–3 years of experience in US accounting and payroll operations.Experience working with US CPA firms, accounting firms, or offshore accounting service teams preferred.Technical SkillsStrong understanding of US payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.Hands-on experience with payroll tax forms and payroll filings.Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, or similar software.Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or similar systems.Good understanding of reconciliations, month-end reporting, and payroll controls.Soft SkillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments.Strong analytical and organizational skills.CompensationCompensation for this role will be competitive and aligned with prevailing industry standards, based on the candidate’s experience, technical proficiency, and overall suitability for the position.
