Job Title: Program Manager – Outreach programsEmployment Type: FulltimeLocation: Pune, India (Currently Work from Home)Mode of work: Hybrid.Travel: Ability to travel pan India to partner locations and field supervision of screening sites is criticalGender preference: No preferencePreferred Languages: Hindi, English, Marathi (Additional regional languages are a plus)Reporting to: Head of Low-Vision Rehabilitation ServicesAbout Vision-Aid:Vision-Aid’s mission is to enable, educate and empower persons with vision-related disabilities so that they can live with independence and dignity.Founded in 2004, Vision-Aid India is a dynamic and growing NGO that supports rehabilitation, education, assistive device distribution, advocacy, research, and digital accessibility initiatives across India.Through its network of resource centers in partnership with tertiary eye hospitals and outreach programs across the country, Vision-Aid aims to expand access to low vision rehabilitation services, Training programs of skill development and early detection through structured Eye Screening Programs.Job Description:Vision-Aid India is seeking a committed and service-oriented Program Manager – for its Outreach initiatives, either directly or through its Partners. Community eye screening initiatives to spearhead and manage Eye Screening initiatives across partner hospitals, institutions, schools, and communities in India.The primary objective of this role is to ensure effective program implementation, coordination, monitoring and expansion of structured Eye Screening Programs and related low vision rehabilitation activities and other initiatives. All applicants must include this information.Important note to all applicants: We receive many applications via LinkedIn via the /"Easy Apply/" feature, and it is not possible to review/respond to all of them, so only applicants submitting the complete application including CV, essay responses listed above, and salary expectations via email will be considered.Key Objectives of the Program:Early identification of visual impairment through structured screening programsReferral and linkage to appropriate low vision rehabilitation servicesStrengthening Vision-Aid Resource Centers at partner hospitalsAwareness generation and advocacy for eye health and low vision careData-driven monitoring and reporting for impact assessment Oversee / Monitor all outreach initiatives.Responsibilities:He / She will:Manage and nurture relationships with partner eye hospitals.Oversee functioning and activities of Vision-Aid Resource CentresPlan, coordinate, and implement Eye Screening and Outreach Programs across locations.Conduct review meetings and provide program oversight.Compile screening data and prepare summary reports, quarterly reports, and annual impact reports.Ensure proper distribution, tracking, and management of assistive devices.Participate in testing and evaluation of assistive devices.Provide counselling support to beneficiaries and families wherever required.Lead advocacy and awareness generation initiatives related to eye health.Contribute to research activities including data compilation and publication support.Coordinate requirements and testing related to Partner Management Portal and reporting systems.Ensure documentation standards are maintained with accuracy and transparency.Travel across India for monitoring, training, partner coordination, and program expansion.Undertake any other responsibilities as deemed necessary for program success.Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in optometry (Mandatory)Master’s Degree or Fellowship in Low Vision Care or Public health (Preferred) or Social StudiesExperience:Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a tertiary eye care hospitalMinimum 1 year of experience in an NGO for community eye care projectsExperience in Public health in eye care Low Vision Care and Rehabilitation (Preferred)Prior experience in program coordination or outreach activities is desirable.Experience in community-based eye screening programs is desirable.Skills Required:Strong management and coordination skillsKnowledge in scientific research and paper publicationProficiency in MS Excel and MS OutlookGood documentation and reporting skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsWillingness to travel extensively.High level of service orientation and empathyInterpersonal relationship buildingKnowledge of avoidable blindness strategiesExposure to public health frameworksAdditional Requirements:Ø Willing to retain the position for at least 3 years.Ø A probationary period of 6 months
