About the DepartmentThe Department of Biotechnology offers B.Tech and M.Tech programs in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Food Technology, with a focus on interdisciplinary learning, research, innovation, and industry relevance aligned with global standards.Role OverviewThe Associate Dean will provide academic leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight to ensure excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and industry engagement across all programs in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Food Technology.Key Responsibilities1. Academic LeadershipLead curriculum design and continuous improvement aligned with NEP 2020, UGC, and industry requirementsEnsure outcome-based education (OBE) and accreditation readiness (NAAC/NBA)Promote innovative teaching pedagogies including experiential, project-based, and interdisciplinary learningSupervise academic delivery, assessments, and quality assurance2. Research & InnovationFoster a strong research culture in areas such as biotechnology, bioinformatics, food technology, and allied domainsEstablish Centers of Excellence (CoE) and research labsEncourage publications, patents, funded projects, and consultancyPromote interdisciplinary research with AI, data science, and healthcare3. Industry & CollaborationDevelop industry partnerships for internships, live projects, and placementsCollaborate with research organizations, biotech firms, food industries, and healthcare sectorsFacilitate MoUs, joint research, and global academic collaborations4. Student Development & OutcomesEnsure high-quality student learning outcomes and placementsMentor students for higher education, research, and entrepreneurshipPromote innovation, startups, and incubation activitiesSupport student participation in competitions, hackathons, and conferences5. Administration & GovernanceManage departmental operations including faculty workload, timetables, and resource allocationLead recruitment, development, and performance management of faculty and staffEnsure compliance with university policies, regulatory bodies, and accreditation standardsPrepare reports for academic councils, boards, and statutory bodies6.
