Excellent paymaster .Position- Head – Global Supply Chain Management Business Unit: DESReports To: Head – Operations / Business Unit HeadReports: Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics & Warehouse TeamsIndustry: Electric Utilities / Power / EnergyWork Location: Chennai Travel Requirement: as per business requirementsObjective / Purpose The SCM Head will be responsible for building and driving the complete Supply Chain strategy for Digital Energy Solutionsbusiness globally, ensuring availability of high-quality materials and services at optimal cost and lead time. This role will oversee sourcing, procurement, logistics, import/export operations, supplier management and inventoryplanning. The SCM Head will collaborate with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Regional Teams across India, GCC &international markets to ensure seamless supply chain execution. The role demands strategic thinking, strong leadership,and an ability to manage complex multi-country supply chain operations. Required Experience and Knowledge • Engineering degree (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical) OR Degree/MBA in Supply Chain / Operations Management. • 18+ years of relevant experience in end-to-end SCM, procurement, logistics, warehousing, imports & exports, supplier development. • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, supply planning & vendor governance. • Strong understanding of global sourcing, taxation, customs regulations, international commercial & logistics terms. • Excellent negotiation, communication, and contract-management skills. • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in data-driven decision-making. • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-location teams. • Proficiency in MS Office tools; experience with EIP systems preferred. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional stakeholder expectations. • Strong understanding of supply chain best practices, cost-optimization models and SCM risk management strategies. Desired Experience, Skills and Knowledge • Exposure to Digital Energy Solutions, HCIS products, Automation, ELV, IT Hardware, Telecom, Panels & Electrical components. • Experience handling large-volume procurement, international vendor bases, and India, GCC & US region logistics. • Familiarity with EIP / SAP / Oracle procurement modules. • Experience in developing long-term supplier partnerships and framework agreements.Key Responsibilities • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement o Develop and execute SCM strategy aligned with business and project needs. o Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers globally. o Lead category strategies for electrical, automation, digital, IT and project equipment. o Drive large-value negotiations and finalize contracts / MoUs / rate agreements. • Supplier Management o Build strong long-term relationships with local & international suppliers. o Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations and capability assessments. o Ensure supplier quality, compliance, and on-time delivery performance. • Logistics & Material Management o Oversee complete logistics lifecycle: inbound, outbound, warehousing & transportation. o Ensure compliance with customs, import/export regulations and documentation. o Optimize inventory levels, safety stock planning and material flow for projects. • Cross-functional Collaboration o Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality & Finance teams for requirement planning. o Support Finance in budgeting, vendor payments, work order creation and cost reporting. • Cost Optimization & Market Intelligence o Identify savings opportunities through alternate sourcing, vendor consolidation & value engineering. o Track market trends, commodity prices, and industry developments to support decision-making. • Governance & Compliance o Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations. o Oversee documentation accuracy and ensure audit-readiness across SCM functions. • Leadership & People Development o Lead, mentor and develop SCM team members across regions. o Establish a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and process discipline.Behavioural Attributes • Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate business needs into SCM actions. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Experience working in multicultural and cross-regional environments. • High energy, proactive attitude, and change-agent mindset. • Team leadership with coaching, mentoring and talent development abilities. • Ability to handle pressure and drive performance excellence.
