Purpose of the role: Leadership role responsible for running and scaling the Injection Molding Department in a high‑precision, regulated manufacturing environment.About the RoleThe Head of Injection Molding oversees daily production, team management, process stability, equipment performance, and quality compliance. Ideal for a hands‑on operational leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments and ensures reliable, efficient, and high‑quality output.ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipLead daily operations of the injection molding department to meet output, quality, and delivery goals.Ensure efficient scheduling, machine utilization, and shift performance.Drive improvements in uptime, scrap rates, productivity, and cycle times.Team & People ManagementLead and develop molding technicians, supervisors, and process engineers.Ensure strong shift coverage, technical competency, and adherence to safety and quality systems.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Process Control & OptimizationOwn process parameters and stability for all molding operations.Troubleshoot molding issues and lead structured problem solving (root cause analysis, DOE, SPC).Maintain validated processes and ensure correct documentation.Tooling & Equipment OversightEnsure molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment are properly maintained and production‑ready.Coordinate tooling repairs, preventive maintenance, and readiness for production schedules.Support commissioning of new molds and molding machines.Quality & ComplianceEnsure all molding operations meet ISO 13485 and internal quality standards.Support investigations, CAPAs, and quality improvement projects.Maintain accurate batch records, process logs, and traceability documentation.Cross‑Functional CollaborationWork closely with QA.Support engineering builds, new product introductions, and capacity scaling.QualificationsDegree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).8–10+ years in injection molding with direct leadership responsibility.Experience in medical device or combination product manufacturing preferred.Proficiency in Telugu and/or Tamil strongly preferred to enable effective team and shop‑floor communication.Required SkillsHands‑on, pragmatic, strong ownership mindset.Thrives under pressure and in dynamic, scaling environments.Strong people management skills across shifts.Clear communication with operators, peers, and senior management.Effective decision‑making with incomplete information.Deep knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, and troubleshooting.Strong grounding in scientific molding, including cavity balance, pressure‑controlled molding, and data‑driven process characterization.Experience with DOE and SPC to drive robust process development and continuous improvement.Strong knowledge of polymers, including material behavior, shrinkage, moisture sensitivity, and processing windows.Experience in high‑precision or regulated manufacturing environments.Understanding of validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and structured problem‑solving methodologies.Preferred SkillsExperience in medical device or combination product manufacturing preferred.
