Position: Head – Rural School Expansion (Execution Leader)Location: Khandwa Road, IndoreReports To: Trustees  In a village where education has often been overlooked, G.D Somani Parmathik Trust, beacon of hope and progress, dedicated to changing the lives of children by providing them with a foundation of knowledge, skills, and values that will help them shape a brighter future, started G.D. Somani School in the year 2005. Today the school has a strength of 1100 students. With the aim of starting many more schools like this, the trust is looking for a Head – Rural School Expansion Role Philosophy:We are looking for someone with an ownership mindset—one who can create, execute, and scale rural education initiatives from the ground up, with limited resources but high intent.The role demands a “Critical Promoter” mindset: Taking full responsibility, questioning inefficiencies, solving real problems, and building sustainable systems. Role Purpose:To lead the end-to-end development and operations of rural schools—from concept to execution to stabilization—while building a scalable and impact-driven model. Key ResponsibilitiesBuild from Ground Zero Identify village locations and assess feasibility Drive school setup (basic infrastructure, utilities, local compliance coordination) Work hands-on with vendors, contractors, and local stakeholdersOwn Execution Completely Ensure school readiness before launch Solve real-time operational challenges with limited resources Maintain speed and accountability in executionBuild and Lead Local Teams Hire teachers and support staff from nearby communities Train and mentor semi-skilled workforce Instill discipline, ownership, and purpose-driven cultureCreate Simple, Scalable Systems Design basic SOPs for school operations Implement attendance, teaching quality tracking, and reporting systems Build MIS (simple, practical—Excel-based acceptable)Community & Stakeholder Engagement Build trust with village communities Engage parents and local influencers Ensure acceptance and participation in school initiativesThink Scale, Not Just Stability Standardize processes for replication Continuously improve model for expansion into new villagesPreferred Background7–10 years of experience in: Rural development / NGO / education initiatives / operations Fellowship programs (Teach For India, Gandhi Fellowship) preferred MSW / Rural Management / similar background is an advantage What Will Make You Successful in This RoleHigh ownership and accountability, Ability to execute fast with limited resources, Strong people-building capability, Resilience in rural and unstructured environments and Clarity of purpose and long-term commitment What We OfferOpportunity to build a high-impact rural education model from the ground up, High autonomy and decision-making ownership and Direct visibility and interaction with leadershipModest but fair compensation with long-term growth opportunityA chance to create measurable social impact at scaleImportant NoteThis role is for individuals seeking a mission, not just a job.Only apply if you are ready to work on-ground and build something meaningful from scratch.Application RequirementAlong with your CV, share a short note: “Describe one situation where you built or improved something from scratch under constraints.”
