We are looking for a Sr. Backend Engineer to join our team in Ahmedabad, India. The ideal candidate should have hands on experience in Laravel development along with React frontend knowledge, the ability to work closely with clients and should be comfortable using modern AI development tools to improve productivity and build efficient solutions. The candidate should be tech savvy, adaptable, and quick to learn new technologies, especially AI assisted development tools.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP/Laravel- Ensure performance, scalability, modularity and security of backend systems- Implement frontend components using JavaScript and modern UI frameworks- Utilize AI assisted development tools to improve development efficiency- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand requirements- Manage project deliveries- Write clean, optimized and reusable code- Debug, test and troubleshoot application issues- Work with cross functional teams including frontend, QA and project managers- Stay updated with new technologies, frameworks, and AI tools- Ability to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks- Mentor engineering teams and drive backend & AI best practicesRequired Technical Skills:- Minimum 3+ years of hands on experience with Laravel framework- Strong system design and architecture skills- Minimum 1+ years of hands on experience with JavaScript/React.js- Good understanding of component based architecture- Good understanding of HTML, CSS and Responsive Design- Experience using Tailwind CSS- Experience working with PostgreSQL/MySQL- Hands on experience with REST APIs- Working knowledge of GitMention your favorite fruit in the message so that we know you have read this in detailAI & Technology Adaptability (Important):- Experience with agentic coding workflows using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI assisted development environments is a must- Ability to integrate AI tools into development workflows- Quick learner who can adapt to new technologies and frameworksCharacter:- Strong sense of ownership — you treat client projects like your own product, not just tickets to close- Direct and clear communicator — can explain technical tradeoffs to non technical clients without jargon, and can push back respectfully when a requirement doesn't make sense- Comfortable with client facing responsibility — can manage client calls, present progress, take feedback, and translate it into actionable tasks for the team- Continuously learning — stays current with the ecosystem (Laravel releases, AI tooling, frontend trends) without needing to be pushed- Comfortable saying /"I don't know, let me find out/" — seniority means knowing how to find the answer fast, not having every answer memorized
