Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled, experienced and technically knowledgeable Datacentre (DC) Operations Manager. The suitable candidate will oversee both the administrative and technical operations/maintenance of the DC on a daily basis. The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in DC management, with a strong background in ensuring reliability, security, uptime efficiency and network operations and maintenance of a DC. The DC Operations Manager will be responsible for managing a team of technicians; coordinating operations, deliveries and maintenance schedules; implementing best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities: Day – to – Day Operations: Ensure smooth functioning of the DC to include provisioning of client requests, infrastructure monitoring and maintenance to ensure 99.99 % uptime, security and access control and cleanliness. Provide all reports and returns as required by the management while ensuring that manpower available is adequately utilised towards smooth DC functioning. Facility Management & Implementation: Maintain the operational efficiency of the physical infrastructure of the DC facility, including racks, power distribution system (both main and standby), cooling systems (for the DC as well as other systems), environmental conditioning, fire management system, security and access control, cleanliness and all other facets which are relevant to working of the DC. The manager will also interact with the building management to ensure that the DC systems remain functional at all times. Operations, Maintenance, Planning & Implementation: Develop and implement daily, weekly and monthly operations and maintenance schedules to ensure smooth functioning of the DC with and uptime of 99.99%. Coordinate the maintenance activities with relevant stakeholders to ensure zero downtime and disruption to operations. Security Management: Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures to safeguard data centre assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. Develop an emergency plan and drills. Practise the emergency procedures so developed. Capacity Planning: Monitor and analyse data centre capacity utilization trends to anticipate future resource requirements. Collaborate with relevant teams to plan and execute capacity expansion projects as needed to support business growth. Risk Management and Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response procedures to address and resolve DC related issues in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Practise the incident response procedures so developed such that the team is aware of the various aspects which may arise and the methodology to tackle them. Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations governing data centre operations, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS. Maintain documentation and records to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including equipment suppliers, maintenance contractors, and security firms. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of service. Team Leadership: Manage a team of technicians responsible for the operations, upkeep, maintenance of the DC. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and productivity Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the data centre operations team. Implement best practices and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and reliability. Review routine maintenance tasks in accordance with Ishan’s safety policy and procedures and drive adherence to business policies and processes at site. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in data centre operations management or related field. Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and environmental controls. Experience managing a team of technicians and coordinating maintenance activities. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing data centre operations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly address technical issues and minimize downtime. Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Relevant knowledge or certification (e.g., CDCP, CDCS, IT) will be an advantage.
