Join the Charge. Create the Future. At Ultraviolette, we're more than a company—we’re a movement. A movement that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in electric mobility. From engineering India’s Fastest Motorcycle to designing The World’s Most Advanced Electric Scooter, we thrive on innovation, audacity, and the relentless pursuit of performance. We’re a diverse team of trailblazers, engineers, designers, creatives and visionaries—united by a shared obsession: to craft machines that are not only sustainable but exhilarating. Here, radical design meets intelligent technology, and every line of code or bolt of hardware brings us closer to reshaping the future of mobility. Our mission is to accelerate the evolution of mobility across the globe - and we’re just getting started. If you're driven by purpose, inspired by possibility, and ready to build something that truly matters, Ultraviolette is the place where your ambition becomes impact. Let's create the future—together. ROLE OVERVIEW : You will own the end-to-end program management of vehicle firmware and software development across Ultraviolette's vehicle programs. This is a technically demanding, cross-functional role that sits at the heart of how firmware features are planned, developed, integrated, and released. You will work across 3–4 embedded engineering teams and interface daily with hardware, systems, and QA stakeholders. Your scope spans multiple vehicle programs simultaneously — requiring you to manage parallel tracks without losing precision on either. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : • Own the program plan for vehicle firmware and software across all active vehicle programs — tracking features, milestones, dependencies, and risks across multiple parallel development tracks • Drive sprint and program increment planning for 3–4 embedded firmware engineering teams, ensuring backlogs are well-structured, dependencies are surfaced early, and delivery commitments are realistic • Own vehicle software release planning and sign-off coordination — defining readiness criteria, managing release review meetings, and driving stakeholder alignment before each software release • Manage cross-functional dependencies between firmware, hardware, systems engineering, and QA — ensuring that changes in one domain (e.g. hardware ECO, new sensor variant) are reflected in firmware program plans promptly • Facilitate FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) sessions and functional safety processes — coordinating inputs from firmware, systems, and hardware teams, tracking action items, and ensuring functional safety considerations are embedded in the development schedule • Maintain traceability between software requirements, feature development, and test sign-off across vehicle programs • Track firmware defect backlogs in coordination with QA — managing regression cycles, escalating critical open issues, and ensuring release gates are not compromised • Partner with the Firmware Lifecycle & OTA TPM on release handoffs — ensuring vehicle software releases are correctly handed over for flashing, OTA packaging, and deployment • Partner with the Field Firmware Reliability TPM to ensure field-reported firmware defects are reviewed, prioritised, and scheduled into active development cycles • Maintain clear program documentation: feature status trackers, release readiness checklists, dependency maps, and program risk logs • Own program-level reporting for vehicle software — presenting status, risks, and decisions to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in regular reviews • Drive retrospectives at the end of each program increment or vehicle release, translating learnings into process improvements REQUIREMENTS : • 5–8 years of experience in Technical Program Management or Engineering Program Management, with a strong preference for experience in embedded systems or automotive software • Solid understanding of embedded software development — familiarity with ECUs, microcontrollers, RTOS, CAN/LIN bus protocols, or equivalent concepts is essential • Proven experience managing cross-functional programs involving hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams • Experience with software release management — release branching, regression testing, sign-off workflows, and readiness criteria • Exposure to FMEA processes or functional safety frameworks (ISO 26262 awareness is a strong plus); does not need to be a functional safety engineer, but must be able to facilitate and track the process • Ability to manage multiple concurrent vehicle programs without losing track of cross-program dependencies • Strong command of Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools — experience structuring firmware backlogs and managing multi-team programs • Excellent communication and facilitation skills — this role runs a large number of cross-functional meetings and must drive decisions, not just document them • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field NICE TO HAVE : • Hands-on background in embedded firmware or automotive software development • Experience with AUTOSAR software architecture or automotive ECU development toolchains • Experience in EV, two-wheeler, or automotive OEM/Tier-1 environments • Exposure to systems engineering processes (SysML, requirements management tools like DOORS or Polarion)
