Role OverviewWe are seeking experienced and strategic Health Economic Modeling professionals to join our team. This role requires deep expertise in developing and validating health economic models (cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, budget impact, and disease progression models), and a strong track record of delivering high-quality models to support market access, reimbursement, and payer engagement decisions in global healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will bring 2-3+ years of hands-on modeling experience, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to deliver complex analytical projects with autonomy and precision.Potential responsibilities include (but not limited to):Design, develop, and validate health economic models including:Cost-effectiveness models (CEA) and cost-utility models (CUA)Budget impact models (BIM)Disease progression models and Markov cohort modelsPartitioned survival models and microsimulation/individual patient-level modelsTranslate clinical and real-world evidence into robust model inputs including transition probabilities, utilities, resource use, and costsConduct systematic literature reviews and indirect treatment comparisons to inform model parametersPerform probabilistic sensitivity analyses (PSA), deterministic sensitivity analyses (DSA), and scenario analyses to assess model uncertaintyPrepare and present model-based analyses for HTA submissions (NICE, CADTH, PBAC, and others) and payer advisory boardsContribute to global value dossiers (GVD), AMCP dossiers, and reimbursement submissionsDraft technical reports, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations based on modeling findingsCollaborate cross-functionally with evidence synthesis, RWE, and medical writing teams to build integrated evidence packagesPresent complex economic modeling findings to internal and external stakeholders, including HTA bodies and payersContribute to thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, and internal knowledge sharingEnsure rigorous project management across timelines, budgets, and quality standardsContribute to proposals and capability development for health economic modeling servicesConduct comprehensive health data analysis across patient charts, claims databases, and electronic hospital records (EHR) to support real-world evidence (RWE) and research and development (R&D) initiativesDevelop and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to generate actionable insightsContribute to retrospective database analyses to support evidence generation for medical affairs, market access, and clinical developmentDraft and review technical reports, abstracts, manuscripts, protocols, SAP (statistics analysis plan) and presentations based on RWE findingsCollaborate cross-functionally to define research questions, study designs, and analytical approachesPresent complex analytical findings to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and impactful mannerRequired Skills and Capabilities2-3+ years of experience in health economic modeling within life sciences, consulting, or a CRO/HEOR agencyProficiency in building and validating cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and disease state modelsStrong understanding of HTA methodologies and payer requirements across major global markets (UK, EU, Canada, Australia, US)Experience with Excel-based model development (advanced VBA/macros); knowledge of R or Python for health economic modeling is a plusFamiliarity with probabilistic sensitivity analysis (PSA) and Monte Carlo simulation techniquesUnderstanding of statistical methods relevant to economic modeling: survival analysis, ITC/NMA, regression-based costingExperience with health utility measurement and preference-based instruments (EQ-5D, SF-6D)Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt modeling strategies to evolving client needsProven ability to work on projects independently and engage key stakeholders effectivelyExcellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to scientific and non-scientific audiencesProficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and WordOrganizational BehaviorsRequires high level of interactive communication and challenges to conceptual thinking as necessaryAbility to influence others at a senior level across the business in order gain commitment to strategyProven teamwork and collaboration skillsWell-developed cultural sensitivityEffectively represents the company externally to key stakeholdersEducational backgroundBachelor’s degree in clinical or biological sciences, engineering, Stats or Operations ResearchMaster’s degree in outcomes research, health economics, econometrics or related fields (Preferred)Life @ AxtriaWe Axtrians, are a passionate bunch who thrive in a culture of collaboration and learning.
