JD - Associate Dean – Allied & Healthcare Reports to: Dean Academics and Quality Assurance, Allied Health, Apollo Healthcare Academy (AHA) Location : New Delhi/Hyderabad Travel – 75%, WFH-25% Role Purpose The Associate Dean – Allied & Healthcare will provide academic, administrative, and strategic leadership for the development and growth of Allied and Healthcare programs at the partner universities. The role will coordinate with the academic leadership at the partner universities to ensure alignment and delivery of the programs as per agreed curriculum, infrastructure planning, faculty development, academic delivery, regulatory compliance, industry integration, and outcome-based education to meet the quality standards with national healthcare priorities, National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Profession, university vision, and global standards as per the MoU between the University and AHA. Key Responsibilities 1. Liaison and support Academic Planning & Curriculum Development with the Academic Leadership at the Partner universities Liaison with academic team of the partner university for periodic revision of competency-based, outcome-driven curricula in line with: National regulatory frameworks (NCAHP, UGC, NEP, etc.) Industry and hospital requirements Work closely with statutory bodies and university academic team for approvals. Benchmark programs against top national and international institutions. Liaison with industry/hospital partners for skill-integrated learning models. 2. Program Development & Regulatory Compliance Plan and operationalize new programs with the partner university academic leadership in Allied and Healthcare domains. Ensure compliance with statutory and accreditation requirements. Assist academic team of the university monitor academic regulations, program structures, and evaluation frameworks. Assist academic leadership of partner university to facilitate of inspections, audits, and documentation. 3. Infrastructure & Resource Planning To liaison with the academic team of the partner university to ensure availability of the required facilities at the university and the partner hospital for: Laboratories Simulation facilities Clinical training infrastructure Digital learning ecosystems Work with administration and finance teams for budget planning and optimization. 4. Faculty Recruitment & Development Identify faculty requirements as per regulatory norms and growth plans for the AHA faculty pool for the designated partner universities and help partner universities in their recruitment processes. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management of AHA faculty. Coordinate with the faculty SPOC of the AHA at the partner university. Design faculty development and clinical upskilling initiatives. 5. Academic Delivery & Quality Assurance Monitor academic delivery and quality for allied and healthcare programs at partner university and the industry partner for: Teaching–learning processes Academic scheduling Clinical postings & skill training Student progression and success Ensure implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and continuous quality improvement systems. Strengthen learning outcomes, assessment strategies, and academic analytics. 6. Industry & Clinical Integration Build partnerships with: Hospitals Diagnostic centres Rehabilitation centres Healthcare industries Facilitate: Clinical training Internships Apprenticeships Placement pathways Align programs with emerging healthcare workforce needs. 7. Strategic Growth & Innovation Identify future domains and new-age specializations in Allied & Healthcare. Promote: Simulation-based education Digital health AI in healthcare Skill certification pathways Contribute to visibility, and brand building. 8. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Prepare program-wise budget plans and resource utilization strategies. Ensure optimal cost-quality balance in program delivery. Contribute to revenue generation through new programs and partnerships. 9. Student Success & Stakeholder Engagement Oversee mentoring, academic support, and progression. Interact effectively with: University leadership Regulatory bodies Industry partners Students & parents Key Competencies Strong academic leadership and governance capability Deep understanding of Allied & Healthcare education ecosystem Ability to liaison with the academic leadership of the partner universities and industry. Curriculum design and OBE implementation expertise Regulatory and accreditation knowledge Strategic thinking with execution ability Financial and resource planning skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills Data-driven decision-making Qualifications Ph.D. in a relevant Allied / Healthcare discipline. Master’s degree in Allied / Healthcare domain (required). Additional qualifications in Health Professions Education / Hospital Administration / Medical Education (desirable). Experience 10+ years of academic/clinical/teaching experience, with at least: 5 years in academic leadership (HoD / Program Head / Professor / equivalent). Proven experience in: Curriculum design Program development Regulatory processes Industry collaboration Exposure to establishing new institutions/programs will be highly desirable. Preferred Background Experience in institutions offering multiple Allied Health programs. Strong network with hospitals and healthcare sector. Understanding of future healthcare workforce trends.
