Job Description

Hello! We are hiring Fulltime Senior Instructional Designers for our Bangalore location (Hybrid, interested to work in the US overlapping shift of 1 - 10 PM) Summary Description The Learning Designer, Core Math is a people and process leader responsible for overseeing math content development work executed by Imagine Learning’s India-based teams and global partners. This role serves as a critical extension of the U.S.-based Learning Design team, ensuring that well-defined, systematized content workflows are executed with consistency, quality, and instructional integrity. This role focuses on managing teams, maintaining quality standards, supporting professional growth, and acting as a key communication bridge between India-based teams and U.S.-based stakeholders. Essential Job Functions • Lead and manage India-based content development teams supporting our client's Core Math products, with responsibility for delivery, quality, and continuous improvement. • Oversee execution of systematized content development work (e.g., practice sets, assessment items, digitization, print and digital production tasks) based on established guidelines and learning architectures. • Serve as a primary owner of content quality for work produced by India-based teams and global partners, ensuring alignment to instructional intent, usability standards. • Build and maintain quality-control processes, review cycles, and feedback loops to ensure consistently high-quality outputs. • Support professional growth, coaching, and upskilling of team members and team leads, particularly in curriculum development practices, digital authoring systems, and quality standards. • Partner closely with U.S.-based Learning Architects, Product, Design, and Project Management teams to understand priorities, requirements, risks, and dependencies. • Participate in cross-functional planning conversations (e.g., requirements discussions, publication planning, and risk reviews) to represent the needs and capacity of India based teams. • Identify blockers, risks, and gaps in information or tooling, and proactively work with stakeholders to resolve them. • Support execution across both digital and print workflows, including familiarity with learning management systems, digital content authoring tools, and print production processes. • Help onboard new workflows, tools, or platforms by translating requirements into clear guidance and supporting team adoption. • Maintain effective communication across time zones, with working-hour overlap to support real-time collaboration with U.S.-based partners. • Contribute to the long-term strategy of building a scalable, internal global content development capability for Core Math. Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Mathematics, Learning Sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or educational content production, preferably within complex or large-scale systems. • Prior experience managing or mentoring teams, including responsibility for quality, delivery, and professional development. Technical Skills • Working knowledge of U.S. K–12 math curriculum, pedagogy, and standards (e.g., Common Core or similar frameworks), with an understanding of problem-based instructional approaches. • Experience executing curriculum or assessment development at scale, particularly where work is distributed across teams or vendors. • Familiarity with digital content authoring systems, learning management systems, or assessment platforms; ability to transfer and generalize skills across tools. • Exposure to print production workflows and design collaboration (e.g., InDesign or similar tools) is a plus, with emphasis on understanding processes rather than deep technical execution. • Strong systems and workflow thinking, with the ability to understand how individual content tasks fit into larger instructional and product ecosystems. Competencies • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally and across time zones. • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in evolving environments. • A coaching-oriented leadership style, with a focus on building capability, accountability, and shared quality ownership.
