The Opportunity CBUS has an exciting new leadership opportunity within our Insurance Operations Team an experienced Senior Manager, Claims Portfolio Management to lead the Claims Portfolio and Trustee Review functions within our inhouse Insurance Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Claims Portfolio Management, Insurance Delivery & Performance , this role is accountable for the endtoend performance of Cbus's claims portfolio across all claim types including Death, TIB, TPD, PI and IP . You will lead multiple specialist teams, oversee administrator and insurer performance, and ensure claims are managed efficiently, compliantly and with a strong focus on delivering a positive experience for members, beneficiaries and thirdparty authorities. Aligned with Cbus's Member Strategy, this role plays a critical part in driving continual improvement in claims duration, service delivery and claimant experience while meeting regulatory and trustee obligations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Claims Portfolio Management and Trustee Review teams to deliver high quality, member focused claims outcomes. Ensure end to end claims performance meets or exceeds SLAs, quality standards, policy requirements and regulatory obligations. Monitor, analyse and report on claims duration, service delivery metrics, trends and root causes, implementing corrective actions where required. Manage complex and escalated claims, including review and signoff of decisions. Oversee administrator and insurer claims handling performance to ensure compliance with contractual service standards and trustee expectations. Build strong working relationships with insurers, administrators, internal stakeholders and service partners. Provide insights to training and quality assurance functions to support continuous improvement. Analyse complaints data and lead actions to address root causes and improve member outcomes. Produce regular and adhoc performance reporting for senior leadership. Risk, Compliance & Governance Reinforce Cbus's approach to risk management, issues and incident management across the claims function. Ensure compliance with SIS, ATO requirements, industry claims handling standards and trustee obligations. Conduct regular reviews of KRIs, controls, SOPs and work instructions, ensuring they remain current and effective. Support delivery of the Fund's Insurance Strategy through strong governance and risk practices. Leadership & Capability Create a positive, high performance culture through coaching, development and strong people leadership. Drive productivity, standardisation and efficiency across the claims portfolio function. Lead teams through process, technology and behavioural change with a focus on adaptability and innovation. Maintain training needs analysis and development plans for leaders and teams. Contribute to broader Insurance Operations leadership forums and strategic initiatives. About You You are an insurance and claims leader with deep expertise in group insurance within superannuation , ideally in a trustee environment. You bring strong technical knowledge, sound judgement and a passion for delivering fair, timely and membercentric claims outcomes. You will also bring: Demonstrated experience leading Claims Portfolio and Trustee Review teams in group insurance within super. Deep, current knowledge of superannuation legislation, SIS Act requirements and claims handling standards across all claim types. Proven ability to apply trustee claims technical expertise in operational decision making. Strong analytical capability with experience in performance reporting, trend analysis and continuous improvement. Experience developing and maintaining SOPs and work instructions. Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build high performing teams in a fas tpaced environment.
