Job Title: Taxonomist (Remote | US Shift Overlap) Location: Remote Budget: Up to ₹1.3 LPM ⏳ Experience: 6+ Years Shift: US time zones (minimum 4 hours overlap required) About the Role We are looking for a skilled Taxonomist with strong expertise in taxonomy development, content classification, and information architecture . The ideal candidate will play a key role in structuring and organizing enterprise content, improving searchability, and aligning taxonomy frameworks with business objectives. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, analytics, and IT stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain taxonomies for structured content organization Implement metadata frameworks, tagging strategies, and classification models Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into taxonomy solutions Improve search and retrieval efficiency across content management systems Work with large datasets to ensure accurate content categorization and discoverability Contribute to governance practices for taxonomy consistency and scalability Support integration of taxonomy with search and NLP-driven systems Mandatory Skills & Requirements 6–8 years of experience in taxonomy development, content classification, or information architecture Strong understanding of metadata, tagging, and content organization strategies Experience working with large datasets, search platforms, or content management systems (CMS) Hands-on experience in stakeholder management and requirement gathering Basic exposure to Natural Language Processing (NLP) or semantic technologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Ability to work in remote and cross-time zone environments Preferred / Good to Have Experience with SKOS standards Exposure to graph databases and ontology frameworks Familiarity with tools such as: PoolParty (Semantic Web Company) TopQuadrant EDG GraphDB (Ontotext) Understanding of semantic search and NLP-based optimization strategies Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / Library Science Certifications or coursework in: Data Structures & Algorithms Computational Linguistics Ideal Candidate Profile Detail-oriented with a structured thinking approach Self-driven and adaptable in ambiguous environments Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills Passion for organizing and optimizing data and content Immediate joiners or candidates with a notice period of up to 15 days are highly preferred.
